Subtitled "A Tale of Sex, Scandal and Suspense" Corrupted by Emmy Yoshida (@EmmyYoshida) tells the story of Ria, a fun-loving English girl who finds herself in a whole lot of trouble on the other end of the world from the high-class London strip club where she works to pay her way through college.

Working one night she meets a handsome, charming Australian businessman who happens to be worth millions, and they experience an instant and mutual attraction. In short order he convinces her to move Down Under with him, where she finds out he isn't the charming Prince she thought he was.

After my last read, a history of the Algerian War of Independence, I was in the mood for something decidedly lighter and I found Corrupted to be a quick and fun read, with a few twists I didn't expect including the ending. This isn't a genre I have read much of, but -- and I hope I don't offend anyone -- I would say if you like Lifetime channel movies you will enjoy this story. That isn't meant as a putdown, merely a comparison by someone who, frankly, hasn't watched many Lifetime movies.

The author has herself been an exotic dancer, and on her website she writes Corrupted is "...a mixture of memoir and fiction, many of the scenes in it are based upon her own experiences as a dancer." No doubt one of those experiences must have been a pervasive and stereotypically negative view of her job choice, which the author deftly defuses on her blog and in the novel (short answer: No, strippers aren't prostitutes).

I am thrilled to report another fantastic read! This novel was a perfect blend of suspense, steamy sex, erotic nightclubs and a strong female lead. Ria Kimura was beautiful and a strong lead. Her family, especially her mom were the perfect sub plot characters. There was of course her job as a stripper which lends the backdrop. She had a wild group of friends. The author shows a side to strippers that releases the stigma behind them. It is a job! The author did a great job with the entire scenario.

So the story is all about this mysterious, handsome millionaire Brad Harrison. He walks into the club politely sweeps Ria off her feet and before you know it she is in Australia. It turns bad faster that you realize it! I think Ria's dad passing away and her sister being happily married has a lot to do with the quick move. She figure she can get a job in the fashion industry with her degree and live with Brad happily. He turns into a monster. His parents are powerful and when Ria meets them, they make her feel like a fool. Brad's mom makes a mockery of her education and insinuates fashion is no place for her. I felt so super bad for her at that moment.

I suggest this to my erotic thriller lovers. What a fantastic juicy read! There is a very scandalous tale that awaits you.

Corrupted is a journey full of twists and turns that will have you addicted and begging for more.

A moving story that portrays corruption added to bias and stereotyping, The twisted minds and the power they abused had me gripping the edge of my seat and clenching my fists. This well written book will leave a powerful impact on the reader, and the last sentence in the book will make a reader clutch the heart and gasp. i know I gasped. Excellent! So worth reading! Don't pass this up.

Except for some bad language, this novel is one of the best I have ever read. But then maybe the author could argue that the environment demands a realistic portrayal. Well, yes, unfortunately. I think this novel is an autobiographical account of her life as a super confident, rebellious young woman, sensuous and beautiful inside and out although in some ways misled by her own headstrong character. It resonates with me, I knew of someone personally who suffered almost similar misfortune although in smaller scale. The novel is well-written, easy to read and understand, enjoyable, funny at times, with some twists and turns. I read it in 3 installments because I want to enjoy it. I'm satisfied with the story and I also recommend it to readers. For those who might want to know the gender of the readers of this novel, I'm a man who aside from action also reads other genre such as this beautiful womanish story.

Spellbinding adventure, legal drama, erotic interludes, this book has it all. A page turning read, I loved every minute, constantly wondering what would happen next.

The author has created a fascinating look into the life of an exotic dancer. The story is about what can happen when obsession takes over the mind of a club patron. The writing is flawless and lures one into this web of desire, beauty and wealth. This is a must read. I look forward to future works by this author.

Ria Kimura is beautiful. A half Japanese, half English stunner in her early twenties. After finishing her fashion degree she finds her chances are slim in making fast money. So, in the end, she resorts to stripping. But quickly finding a flare for it in the London party scene. Using her exotic looks to her advantage its not hard for her to get attention with the punter's Geisha fantasies.

She meets a beautiful, sculpted, Australian billionaire while stripping who, after sweeping her off her feet in a brisk romance, offers to be her sugar-daddy. Whisking her off to his homeland. And things just explode from there. Scandals, sex and suspense are only the beginning.

I found the book horrifically realistic.

It had me taking sharp intakes of breath at certain times, and gritting my teeth at others. The twists in this book made my toes curl. And it doesn't stop, making me peek between the gaps in my fingers as things just go from bad to worse.

Overall I really really enjoyed this book. I was surprised, it wasn't what I had expected when I downloaded it. Its fast, gritty, horrifying and gut churning at points.

A realistic thriller that had me making nail indents in the leather of my armchair.
