Platinum efficiency, fully modular and virtually silent
CORSAIR HX series power supplies give you extremely tight voltage regulation, quiet operation, Platinum-certified efficiency, and a fully modular cable set. Built with all Japanese 105°C capacitors, they’re a great choice for high performance PCs where reliability is essential.
Quiet, efficient operation
80 PLUS Platinum efficiency reduces operating cost and excess heat, and Zero RPM fan mode ensures virtual silence at low and medium loads.
100% Japanese 105°C capacitors
Premium internal components ensure solid power delivery and long term reliability.
Zero RPM Fan Mode
Since the fan doesn’t turn on until it’s needed, you’ll enjoy virtually silent operation at low and medium loads.
Ten year warranty
Your guarantee of reliable operation that will last across several system builds.
Power In Your Hands
Toggle single +12V rail or multi +12V rail mode. In the 'Single' position, the full output capability of the power supply’s +12V rail is available to any and all connectors, while in the 'Multiple' position, each individual connector has Over-Current Protection so no more than 40A of current can be delivered on any given cable.
The fully modular DC cables make builds and upgrades easy, with clean, great-looking results.

That's the only thing that doesn't make this 5 stars. The product is not depicted correctly on the site, and would have changed my buying decision.
By the way, to get the Link working , and you should getting working , you get all kind of details about the power supply and your system, anyway I just ran a mini USB cable( I did not use the included cable) from inside the computer and connected to any outside USB 2.0 port, bingo! If you want to force the fan to spin, pick in group the GPU temp , play around , and you will force it to spin.
I found why I am getting 87% efficiency. It's explained on the manual page 4. I will get 95% efficiency if the system load were 50%, since my system load is about 10% , the efficiency is 87%. Is that make sense?
Extremely happy with this power supply. My HP computer came with a cheap power supply that I never trusted. I dont feel the same with this power supply. I dont care to leave the computer running for 40+ hours while a 4TB is encrypted using bitlocker, etc. I keep saying all the time that what you pay is what you get, and I know this is a cliché but is the true.
Out of the blue, the Link software stopped reporting power supply status like load, temperature, etc., also when everything is good the power supply LED blinks between orange and green, in this case, it became steady orange.
Order a replacement, shipped and delivered fast and quick, just as Amazon knows how to it.

BUT, I truly dislike their included cable. Cheap and hard plastic! If you want quality cables, they expect you to spend another $150 plus!!
My future power supplies won’t be from this company!!
Corsair power supply looks like a good buy but i personally didn't like the cables at all. They are smaller gauge and cheap compared to Antec on my previous build. I purchased the Corsair Obsidian 500D case which has room for 3 SSD drives side by side behind the motherboard wall, but the space between the cable power connectors were too short to allow connection of the drives side by side, so i had to make a new cable in order to power all 3 SSD drives with a single cable. Not impressed with that at all. Would i buy again? Possibly because of the brand name, but not at this price since i would have to get custom cables. I have modded entire cable set for previous build and not sure i want to do that again. I really thought Corsair would have better quality components then that...
I reduced the load to 750W by moving some load to another power supply. It ran fine for a week then started failing again.
I further reduced the load to 500W and it's still shutting down.
I now have to buy another power supply in order not to have down time so I can RMA this one.
When I opened the box I was greeted with a velvet and nylon bag. The velvet bag contained the unit and the nylon bag had all of the cables. All of the cables are of the flat design and look pretty good in your build. There are 2 8 pin CPU connectors and one of them is 800MM long, There are 4 6+2 PCI E cables for a total of 8 6+2 connectors. so you could run 8 single 6 or 8 pin GPUs or 4 double 8 or 8+6 GPUs.
The efficiency of this unit is stellar. It maintains at least 91% efficiency at every load stage from under 100 watts on idle to the full 1200W. You can see this too without needed special equipment. This uses a USB header on you mother board to work with Corsair Link software.
Corsair LInk software allows you to monitor the usage, change from a single rail to multi rails, monitor the temps of the unit and test the fan.
I have to say that is the best PSU I have ever owned. Did I mention the 10 year warranty?
