Folks, if you're looking for a plastic free kettle this lovely looking item is NOT the one for you. There is absolutely a plastic ring INSIDE the kettle around the stainless steel heating element on the bottom. Those of you who are saying in your reviews that there is no plastic, sorry to burst your plastic free bubble. Hard to see, but take a knife and gently poke the space between the heating element and the glass wall of the unit. You will feel the very soft gummy plastic. I don't know, maybe it's silicon. But I don't love that either, mine is going back.
It's two weeks later and I want to make an amendment to my review. I think I was harsh. I had read so many questions and answers and reviews saying there was no plastic and then when I received it I was very disappointed because there is plastic. Or silicon, to me it's the same thing. But if you don't mind the plastic, it is a very lovely item and I have to say that customer service was top-notch. They saw my unhappy review and immediately contacted me and offered me an alternative product. So I decided to try it, it's a stainless steel Kettle and even though I wanted glass I have not been able to find any glass kettle with zero plastic in it. The stainless steel kettle is lovely.

It is well made and sturdy. I am sure will withstand the test of time. Can't say enough about the blue light in it, (that's the little kid in me).
Cosori uses the British Strix thermostat technology, which some companies do not, and I found this important in my decision.
As other customers, I did a lot of research before purchasing. Cosori has a lot of support and it is well deserved! If you have an issue, or even a suggestion/comment, they are willing to listen, something most companies are not willing to do.
Thank you Jubilee for being so patient and taking the time to listen! Hope the product designers will consider what we discussed regarding the LED light color. Will not reiterate here as it would not be good for your competitors to steal your design idea!
Okay, now for the purest out there. Yes, unfortunately you will notice some odor from the pouring spout which is mainly stainless steel, however the edges are plastic.
It would be excellent if the product designers, (geniuses that they are), could make the pouring spout all metal. The plastic surrounding the mesh does indeed touch the glass container when the lid is down and boiling water does splash up and touch it too. However, I am confident that with a little ingenuity, the product designers can change this. That change would make this kettle from Cosori even more attractive to those who don't want any type of plastic to touch their water.
All in all, bottom line. Yes, it is a wonderful kettle. Yes, I would highly recommend it. Yes, it is very attractive. Yes, in the future if needed, I will purchase this again or buy it as a gift for family and friends. Great job Cosori! Thank you!

I really love this electric kettle! Love the shape. It is easy to clean, comes to a full boil quickly, and it is attractive. :-) Let's face it, using this electric kettle to boil water is much better for the environment than heating it up on a stove. Base has some scratches and stainless steel bottom looks like previously washed with scrubbing sponge. Maybe it’s like that from the factory but for me it looks like used. It takes 4.5 minutes to boil 1.1 l of room temperature water.
