Yes, this is cardboard, however it is surprisingly rugged if you care for it.

The old Kodak 18% cards were cardboard. I have one that I used for over a decade. Keep it in a plastic folder or a ziploc bag to keep it free from smudges, scuffs and moisture.

I would be suspicious of a gray card which was made from a plastic material. It might look gray to the eye however plastic is likely to be more reflective and would probably have specular highlights in the image.

I don't have access to a reflection densitometer any more but visually this card looks identical to my old Kodak card. It's at least close enough for white balance work.

I bought two of these and then came loose in the box with another item which scratched the surface of one of the cards. I was surprised they didn't come packaged in individual plastic bags as depicted in the photo!

Be prepared to receive your card with out the protection of a plastic bag.

Otherwise it works as its supposed to.

This is just a piece of cardboard. It did not even come in the plastic wrapping shown in the picture. It came in a yellow envelope and one of the corners was already bent. I am probably spending more money in electricity writing this review than what the card is actually worth. I give it two stars because it is grey and it's a good size and I am guessing it will do what it's supposed to but I don't see it lasting more than two weeks if I take very good care of it. I don't even know how I will be able to carry it around without messing up at least one of the other three corners. I guess it wouldn't be too much of a problem for people with a studio that can keep it in one safe place. Good thing I only wasted $7 bucks.

I bought these gray cards for my photography class and they are really good. I have been using the cards with my Rebel T5 and it's working great aside it. The color is on point and it makes everything looks so good, the cards are perfect and works well.

Fingerprints hold a little easier than one would hope but I suppose that's not a huge problem. $11 for a piece of gray card raises an eyebrow but it's a sturdy card and the grey is 18% so having it brought to me on a silver platter is worth it. I made the mistake of ripping the top part off, which it is perforated for, before noticing that it has a ziploc-style opening at the bottom. Use that opening.

Works well, comes in a resealable bag, and is thick and durable. It's a nice size that allows you to easily fill the frame when taking the image. I've always achieved nice custom white balance with it. I don't know that I would buy it again though because I would prefer to have something smaller and more portable.

I compared this card to an actual R-27 Kodak gray card and this card his is bluer and darker. I'm not sure why it is hard to create a true 18% gray card, but this is not it.

Good standard gray card. Gives me accurate readings for setting my aperture and shutter speed for photographing with a manual 35mm camera!
