Very good solvent, really doesn't leave residue.

Great stuff, I used to tuse this clean the bearings on my old skateboard when I was a kid. I just used it to clean the screw drive on my garage door opener and it cut through the grease very quickly. Also used up the whole can and probably could have gone through at least one more can to get it completely clean.

Be careful around plastic, it eats through styrofoam and be sure to wear safety goggles while working with this solvent. I would also not wear prescription glasses with plastic lenses (unless you have them covered with safety goggles, I'm afraid this stuff might eat them.)

Good, but do be careful...

This stuff may be great, but a word of warning: if you're doing an AC motor with brushes, remove them first! One of my brushes ended up damaged from this, I had to completely re-profile the brush afterward.

Also a note: if you plan to spray down a motor, then fire it up, make sure to put something around the exhaust of the motor. I didn't wait long enough, and a huge cloud of cleaner came spraying out on power-up. Thankfully I'd removed my glasses beforehand, as this stuff doesn't get along with some plastics.

Anyway, good product, but not for all purposes.

Excellent Cleaner for Motors and Electrical Parts

1-29-13. THis product has consistently provided a quick and excellent solvent to clean grease, dirt and other materials from electric motors and related parts. It's not a electrical contact clearner as it tends to leave a residue. CRC makes a good contact cleaner. The fumes are toxic, so use it with good ventilation (outdoors is wise).

If you've ever taken apart a DC motor (or watched a YouTube video), you know how important keeping the motor commutators and brushes clean can be, especially with smaller motors where a small amount of corrosion or gunk can seriously impede performance and efficiency. I use this on RC cars after especially dirty runs, and you can actually see (and hear) the motor turn faster after blasting the brush/commutator area with this stuff. It really doesn't take much, and it's a big-sized bottle, so I'm really happy with this product.

Purchased this item to clean several motor oil spots on pavers on our new driveway. It did a nice job and after two or three tries, you can't even tell the spots were there. I avoided spraying in the sun and washed each spot with water. Be sure to wear a mask and protective gloves and use a long handle brush. The smell is strong and I am sure not good to breathe in.

This stuff is pretty handy. Since it does not leave a residue, it can be used for more than cleaning switches and such in electrical appliances. I used it to clean my Breitling automatic watch which wasn't keeping time. I didn't want to pay $100 + for some jeweler to do the same thing.

This stuff seemed pretty good, sprayed alternator and fuses etc. Seemed to work well but do be wary fumes are very strong and may linger so well ventilated areas only.
