With Eternal Grace Ministry the Rossi's developed opportunities to work with famous people, including the late Michael Jackson. Currently services are held in private homes, as many celebrities are unable to attend services in conventional churches.
Create Your Life has 8 sections, where Rossi covers a variety of topics: making his way from Jerry Falwell's fundamentalism, from guilt to grace. The "Master Artist" God working within us, the medicine of creativity, believers becoming cultural spiritual healer's in expressions of prayer, meditation, and worship. Rossi provides tips for managing stress, approval seeking, separating self esteem from achievement and finding spiritual peace with or without achievement. He also advises to never condemn yourself or your work due to rejection from others.
"Books are sold like cars, one at a time". Rossi cleverly explains how self-publisher's work through CreateSpace.com affiliated with Amazon. Typically author's sell 50-100 copies of their work through their own circle of friends, relatives, associates, and neighbors. Rossi doesn't miss a chance to promote his work throughout his book, due in part to the energy involved in marketing, and the high costs of advertising.
It was interesting how Rossi deals with "unhinged religious nuts", who email him raging, criticizing, threatening, "lunatic rants" over his fictional novel "Stickman". He blocks/deletes all volatile messages, escaping his critics by doing nothing. His film "Sister Aimee McPherson" met with further success after the International Church of Foursquare Gospel released a statement of non-support, urging their 32,000 congregations not to see the film.
I enjoyed many of the amusing stories and parts of "Create Your Life". Rossi's continual promotion of his work seemed a bit much towards the end of the book. I skimmed over the pages of his favorite quotes/scriptures, and had to really consider his closing poem: "I'm My Own Muse". Rossi is certainly passionate about his work with Stickman, Sister Aimee McPherson, and boyhood baseball hero Roberto Clemente. Although I can't share in that interest, I realized that his poem was a further reflection of his energy and exuberance for life. 3* GOOD.

He talks about letting go of perfection and the grandiosity most artist have and encourages one to just put out what you have worked on.. And don't stop! That was really eye awaking for me. I've recorded tons of songs but never released anything for fear it 'wasn't good enough.' After reading this book I had a lightbulb go off. ' You have recently recorded new music. You did the best you could. Now Put It Out there! Share it with the World'!
What a relief!! I realized I should embrace what I have done and celebrate it for what it is and stop judging myself.
I highly recommend this book because he covers so many great topics and shares so many insightful ideas that I am positive will affect you in a powerful way. If you are involved in any type of artistic work, I guarantee this book will bring encouragement and inspiration. You'll find acceptance of who you are and what you've done and what you're doing! Embrace Richards years of experience and wisdom and get this book! It will open your eyes and inspire you to be the best you can be, by just being yourself. Embracing your imperfect artistic work, removing judgment on yourself and what you've done and letting your own personal light Shine!
I love how this book is written, so real and down to earth with wonderful advice and a wealth of knowledge both spiritual and practical.
I would highly recommend this book for anyone who needs some encouragement and inspiration to make their dreams come true.
