From Caran d'Ache - the Full Blender! It's a colorless oil-wax medium for blending, dry mixing and intensifying colors. This single tool combines the mixing and unifying properties of a blender with a burnisher that consolidates and adds gloss. When applied over color pencils or watercolor pencils the pigments become even more lightfast and watercolor pencils become permanent. Since there is no case, 100% of the material is available for use. It is a unique medium and the ideal complement to Caran d_Ache color pencils, graphite and wax pastels.

I do like the fact that the Caran D'ache blender has no wood casing, so you get more blender, and I like the feel of it in my hand. I will keep both in my toolbox and see which works better with the current medium I'm using. But I'm sure I will re-purchase the Prismacolor next time.
UPDATE: I still continue to use both blenders. This blender works great with oil-based pencils. And I prefer it with all the Caran D'ache pencils that I now own. I have upgraded it to 5 stars!
Prismacolor pencil blender, this one works better because the product is a bit softer then other brand, and as it blends it leaves a brilliant sheen
Luster, makeing your art work, gleam! Love it, Recomended.
Since there's so much blender material in these, if you use an electric sharpener you're definitely going to want to sharpen a graphite pencil afterward to clean it (I keep a bunch of cheap pencils handy and break off the point of one before putting it in my auto-stop sharpener).
What makes this one unique is that it is the pure wax-like substance, no wood-pencil, nothing, just the wax, like those all-grafitti pencils. And it is a lot of blender, way more than the ones like a pencil, with wood. If I have to choose, I will stay with Caran D'Ache, but again, I am not a seasoned artist, who could could compare all of them and find out if the difference among them are that big.
I don't think so.
