Patrick D. Pidgeon does an excellent job of juxtaposing comedy, confrontation, high adventure, and ironic developments throughout the story. A wealth of unexpected twists and turns keep young readers guessing about good, evil, and the gray area that lies between them as the quest evolves...Kids looking for a fun, strong fantasy story in which children take charge, see their experiment go awry, and come full circle in an unexpected way will find Creeples! a delightful read.
--D. Donovan, Senior Reviewer, Midwest Book Review
"The Creeples bring the mania, humor, and constant action that kids love in a middle-grade story. Each with their own personalities and magical abilities and causing constant mischief, they'll keep kids glued to the page, wondering what catastrophe they'll cause next and what inanimate object they'll bring to life next. As the Lab Rats chase the Creeples all over campus, Pidgeon balances fun with mystery. Readers will wonder what the dean and his goons are up to and what will happen if he catches the Creeples. Middle-grade readers looking for wacky and fun science experiments gone wrong will adore Creeples!"
"A total hoot . . . Pidgeon mixes a heady brew of science, unusual tech, and humor in this fun middle-grade romp. Laced with intrigue and humor, this fantastic science fiction tale plays out at a dizzying pace as a trio of students races against time to unravel a sinister conspiracy that could destroy the world. Pidgeon skillfully blends ultra-advanced science with uncanny technology. The tension stays high, and a continuous sense of wonder compliments the humorous tone. Peppered with laugh-out-loud moments and weird science, the novel makes for a page-turner."
--The Prairies Book Review
"Despite its high stakes, the narrative is loose and funny, indulging in merry mayhem every step of the way . . . Peppered with amusing interior illustrations by Marco Bucci and dossier-style descriptions of each Creeple, the middle-grade fantasy Creeples! mixes heady scientific speculation with giddy fun."
--Reviewed by Ho Lin for Clarion Reviews 4/5
"Pidgeon's story delivers a galloping narrative, marvelous characters, spot-on kid dialogue, a compelling mystery, charm, and heaps of laugh-out-loud humor . . . Readers will love the nail-biting moments as the three students must alternatingly spy, hide, disguise themselves, and comically outwit authority figures. The Creeples themselves are simply irresistible, whether they're taking a ride on a roaming Roomba or giving a nasty student an atomic wedgie. And best of all: the epilogue reveals a sequel."

Fun, bouncy, wild, and sure to have a Middle Schooler in stitches. I have rated this book from the perspective of someone who might buy for a MG reader. The book is an enjoyable reminder of childhood imagination for an adult, but it's really made for a younger age group (10-12 or 13). The voice, humor, and sugar-rush energy level are tailored to delight kids. The Creeples are zanny, yet lovable troublemakers. The protagonists are strong, full of individuality, promote a love of science, and demonstrate principles of friendship and a preference for brains over brawn.
