THE FORESIGHT IS A GREAT EDC FOLDING KNIFE. I've been a knife collector for a long time and have seen a lot of good blades. I wish I bought this sooner. IMO, I've experienced no CONS with this CRKT model. Slick surface provides no grip, but the knife's ergonomic design makes up for that. The IKBS makes the "need" for a thumb stud obsolete and the liner lock release is just right. I've always felt most clips on folders were unnecessarily too long, so for me this feature is a welcome change. This model requires some time getting adjusted to. If you position your finger in just the right manner, the flipper functions like a well oiled tool. It can be just as quick releasing as a spring assisted design. Likewise, if you position your finger in just the right way on the liner lock release - again, no problems there as well. Play with this pup a bit - it's different and as such needs you to be patient with it. Innovative new designs always have unnoticeable nuances and because of that, have a bit of a learning curve that you need to get past before it works properly for you. Gravity and inertia have a lot to do with how well this knife performs for you. If you're looking for a solid, sturdy and dependable multipurpose folding knife that comes with a very well balanced AUS8 blade. . . Look no further! For it's price point, you won't find a better knife - much higher value for the money. This one's about as perfect as it'll get - until Ken Onion comes up with another mind blowing innovation in the knife industry. In the past, I've only bought one of any production knife, but I learned a hard lesson. My last favorite production folder eventually ended getting lost after it was discontinued - that's not happening with my Foresight. With enough foresight on this pup this time, I'm getting another one or two soon if in case I end up losing my first one, LOL.
PS: I saw a review that said because the Foresight was manufactured in Taiwan, the buyer was going to return it to Amazon. What a bad decision! This knife was very well designed and the manufacturing is very well executed. Asia is getting much better in their production practices. If you only want to buy American, fine. If you don't want things made in Asia just because it's made in Asia, fine - but I have news for you. IMO, about 80% of the products we use daily are made in Asia and in my experience some US made stuff have a lot to be desired nowadays. Now, realistically, if you really want quality US products, be prepared to pay a premium price. A custom piece like this would probably run you about $700 - $1000. I know, because I have a couple of custom knife maker friends and Ken Onion is one that I've been good friends with for about 25 years now. I'm just saying. . . try it before you knock it. I highly recommend this folder.
