If what you want is a sharpener, this is not bad. The fact that I can actually have it with me means I'm much more likely to sharpen knives that need it. And sharper knives are usually safer than dull knives because you don't need to use as much force to cut, so it's less likely to slip. It's certainly not the greatest sharpener in the world, but the better sharpeners have mostly stayed in my garage unused because they aren't convenient.

Unlike other people, I like the hook cutter. The rubber cap around the hook cutter is pretty much useless, I don't find the open hook cutter to be that dangerous, and it's pretty useful. I guess most people think of it as a seat-belt cutter for emergencies, but I find that a hook cutter is fantastic for cutting tie-wraps, opening recalcitrant food packaging, etc. It's almost impossible to cut yourself, because your fingers are too big to get to the blade; it's safe even for medium-sized kids (maybe a baby has fingers small enough to hurt itself). But you just give one swipe and the cord or the package falls apart. You do have to be careful taking it out of whatever kind of pocket you put it in, because it will happily cut your clothes as well. (I mostly carry this in my phone pouch, not in my pocket, and I always turn it so the hook is toward the smooth side.)

Because I like hook cutters, I used to carry CRKT's other keychain hook cutter (the CRKT K.E.R.T, which is just a hook cutter and basically nothing more), but I switched to this because it's hardly any bigger and I find the sharpener occasionally useful.

I found that this thing was annoying to carry with the bottle opener sticking out of it. I need a bottle opener so rarely, and besides, I carry real multitools with much better bottle openers anyway. So I took it the metal plate that forms the catch for the bottle opener; I just unscrewed the torx screws. It took a bit of effort, but I like it better without that useless metal thing catching on everything.

There's not a day that goes by where I'm not reaching for this. I tossed out the keyring and put a small carabiner clip on it and hang it on my belt loop. I'm constantly cutting open tape/boxes with it. The seatbelt cutter is super useful to cut strapping, zip ties, and cardboard. It does develop burrs if you use it on harder substances, but literally 5 seconds with a serrated knife sharpener or metal file puts it back in action. I bought it for the knife sharpened and it is super handy, but the seatbelt cutter end by far sees the most use. The bottle opener is nice, but I hardly ever use it. The only downside is I have to remove the carabiner before using the bottle opener. But it's WAY more convenient to do that with the carabiner than it would be with the included key ring.

Some people have complained about the rubber cover on the zip cutter. Mine holds on just fine, it is a little cheap but the nice thing is if it did fall off you could probably replace with rubber tubing at any hardware store. I highly recommend this product.

I’ve had mine for two years now and I just bought another after losing my keys!
Super handy. Small enough not to bother my leg through the pocket of my pants. I use the sharpener often because my every-day-carry knife isn’t the best and dulls quick.
I use the bladed hook often too- mostly for cutting small cords and opening boxes (it excels at opening boxes).
Other reviews complain about the protective sleeve that comes on the hook but I threw mine away early, thinking it was packaging trash, and it never causes a problem being uncovered.

The bottle opener is awful. It does not work. it feels like an afterthought in the design which is a shame because I was really looking forward to having a bottle opener/knife sharpener keychain.

Ich bewerte hier die Schnittmenge von "Soll" und "Ist" - denn ich möchte nicht davon aus gehen, daß alle Exemplare so sind wie meines...
Ein kleiner Messerschärfer für unterwegs, wenns mal schnell gehen muss - eine super Idee!
Genau dafür habe ich das Ding gekauft. Und eigentlich kann man mit CRKT ja nichts falsch machen.
Doch, wenn man ein Montagsprodukt erhält.
Ob die anderen Werkzeuge an dem Tool etwas taugen, interessiert mich nicht - aber wenn das Haupt-Tool mir meine Messer versaut, dann ist das Mist. Eines der beiden Schleif-Dreiecke, die den eigentlichen Schärfer darstellen, hatte bei meinem Exemplar nämlich keine 90%-Kanten - mit dem Erfolg, daß ich mir bei zwei Offiziersmessern eine schöne Falte in die Schnittkante gefräst habe. Theoretisch wären diese kleinen Dreiecke ja austausch- bzw. drehbar, praktisch hat die verwendete Schraube direkt beim ersten Versuch schon durchgedreht und nicht mehr gegriffen.
Hätte ich mal besser die OVP aufgehoben - so waren es 20 Taler für die Füße.
Wer immer sich das Ding kauft - bitte prüfen, ob sich die Klinge absolut grade durchziehen lässt, oder aufgrund eines Schleifsteinchens mit falschem Winkel verkantet.
Jetzt habe ich einen Roadie von Lansky - der tut genau, was er soll.
