This CS Hyde UHMW polyethylene tape attaches with rubber adhesive backing to provide surface protection, as well as friction and noise reduction, and for lining chutes, conveyors, drawers, and other sliding surfaces. The tape's ultra-high molecular weight (UHMW) polyethylene surface resists abrasion and impact for use in packaging applications. The UHMW polyethylene tape also has anti-stick and low friction properties for a slippery yet protective surface that enables sliding ease and reduces noise in packaging applications. To attach securely to surfaces, the tape has 0.005" thick pressure-sensitive rubber adhesive backing. This tape has a maximum tensile strength of 18 and a temperature range of 32 to 150 degrees F for use in above-freezing conditions. The 4-3/4"-diameter roll of tape provides 18 yards of 1" tape.
CS Hyde Company manufactures high-performance plastics products such as films, adhesive tapes, fabrics, silicone sheets, threads, and cords. The company, founded in 1996, is headquartered in Lake Villa, IL.

I opened my espresso machine and added a tiny sliver of this tape on microswitch lever bar and the scrapy metal-on-metal sound of the grouphead lever (it is a La Marzocc Linea Mini) completely went away. Here's a photo of that application: http://i.imgur.com/RonsXnL.png
I love this stuff. Any tinkerer like myself will undoubtedly have endless uses for it.
Also used it on my Logitech M310 mouse. The mouse feet (pads) on that model wear off eventually. Not only is the mouse harder to slide but the infrared beam loses focus on the desktop surface and the mouse cursor moves erratically. You can buy replacement mouse feet or, much simpler, cut strips of this tape. Use two layers to get proper height so that the infrared beam focuses correctly.
Am really happy with the strength and durability of this tape and the length on the roll. I expect that I'll find other uses for it.
Another use for it is on the bottom of table saw jigs, like a table saw sled. Even though I keep my table saw lubed, this tape is a significant improvement on easy movement of a large sled. Just a few strips makes a lot of difference.
As for installation, if you have old wood drawers like I do, I highly recommend lightly sanding and then thoroughly cleaning all of the surfaces you're going to tape. The adhesive is nice and strong but if your drawer slides are covered with a fine layer of wood dust like mine were the tape won't stick.
The end result is fantastic. The drawers that were well-fitted to begin with feel like they're on modern steel slides now! The ill-fitted drawers are still ill-fitted, but they're much easier to open.
