Fiberglass Tape is a woven cloth tape with pressure sensitive silicone adhesive that has excellent abrasion and high temperature resistance. This tape is used primarily in electrical applications including splicing and positioning in coils and support rings, reinforcing slot insulation and armature coil insulation. It is also used in high temperature applications such as transformers, solenoids, appliances and thermal spray masking.

Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness.
Customers find the fiberglass tape works well, particularly for wrapping toroids, and appreciate its high temperature performance, with one customer noting it functions effectively at 550 degrees F. The tape receives positive feedback for its quality and insulation properties. The adhesive strength receives mixed reviews, with some customers reporting strong adhesion while others find it doesn't hold well.
Customers find the tape to be of good quality, with one customer noting its heavy-duty fold and another mentioning that nothing is coming off it.
"...This tape is an easy solution along with heavy duty fold to any problem with air ingress or leakage...." Read more
"Seems to be good quality. It's very specialized tape that I may never need again, but for the repair I was making, I needed this specialty tape...." Read more
"...adhesive seems fine, there have been zero edge lifts and nothing is coming off the tape onto the clothing, all things I was concerned might happen...." Read more
"very good quality, exactly what I expected of a fiberglass tape, excessive amount of glue, so it holds fibers well but smells bad, but the glue seem..." Read more
Customers find the tape effective for high temperatures, with one customer noting it works at 550 degrees F and another mentioning it extends wire temperature rating.
"...fortunately the fiber glass layer was still there and provided somewhat the insulation." Read more
"...It is a thermal insulator, I use it to wrap wiring harnesses that are in high temperature harsh environments to extend wire temperature rating...." Read more
"Heat tape, who needs it? Me for one, and if you are reading this you do too. Not overly sticky, but when stuck to itself it will stay put...." Read more
Customers have mixed experiences with the tape's adhesive strength, with some reporting it sticks really well and stands up to high heat, while others find it doesn't hold very well.
"...hold an insultor near the heated element and so far this tape has held up nicely even through all day use." Read more
"The only thing keeping it from a 5-star is the adhesive doesn't work above about 250c. Other than that it works really well!..." Read more
"...It withstands high temperatures, thus far around 465f, no problem at all no sign of charring or weird smell..." Read more

Worked like a charm. Have an old branding iron that the wire splices went bad on that also needed high temp electric tape to hold an insultor near the heated element and so far this tape has held up nicely even through all day use.
If you tinker with grills or smokers like I do, then you'll need to close a hole from time to time. This tape is an easy solution along with heavy duty fold to any problem with air ingress or leakage. I'm sure there are other high temperature applications for it, I just haven't had any yet.
Beware of the picture. It shows the product to be wider than it really is. It is only 1/2" wide but the picture clearly shows it to be wider. Read the description carefully. Mis-leading picture.
Use it to protect areas I don't want powder coated. The process involves heating a part to 400F for up to 45 minutes in some case and the tape is still stuck to the part when it comes out of the oven. Excellent product, highly recommended.
The only thing keeping it from a 5-star is the adhesive doesn't work above about 250c. Other than that it works really well! I am using it to insulate and adhere the wires for a small heating block that has a target temperature of about 210c and I think this works better Kapton tape.
Great product good adhesion and it does exactly what I need it for. I basically put it around a hot contraption to hold it tight and to prevent hot air from blowing around it. It withstands high temperatures, thus far around 465f, no problem at all no sign of charring or weird smell...
Seems to be good quality. It's very specialized tape that I may never need again, but for the repair I was making, I needed this specialty tape. Better safe than sorry.
