I would not recommend this book to developers that are looking to learn all the CSS essentials and properties. This book does not cover all of them, it is focus on the most common
"Visual Dictionary" is the perfect subtitle for this book as that is exactly what it is! Every page is full of well placed, unobtrusive and stylistic pictures that is used to convey the accompanying CSS code. It's really something that must be seen to be believed.
From beginners to experts, I think anyone could benefit from this. The ease of finding the correct information just from a flip-through is nothing short of astounding. Great work here!
I often find this field of literature to be a bit wordy, sometimes boring, and many times not asserting the acute details you need to understand the concept fully. However, in CSS VD, you are given tightly knit capsules of information, with excellent visual examples, that makes you feel more in command of the subject and informed.
I highly recommend this as a CSS reference, I know I will be using this as I’m venturing into styling in my web studies, and surfing the internet for information can be overwhelming and confusing. Excellent guide!
Its contents are up-to-date and laid out nicely, with lots of diagrams and pictures, living up to its name of a "visual dictionary".
I'm pretty sure I'll be constantly referring to this book while I hone my front-end dev skills. Highly recommended!
