The fingers that hold down the retainer slipped to the side twice, which made it difficult to remove since that piece doesn't turn well against the screw when it's being torqued by the half that's still on the retainer working against the valve spring (the spring fingers hold too tight to remove when they're compressing the spring). This didn't cause any damage though and was just a minor inconvenience.
