I was looking for a unit that is all stainless steel shaft and footguard and this unit appears to fit the bill, HOWEVER, when you examine the bearing of the blade mechanism it is made of hard rubber held in place with a white plastic bushing. I don't know why manufacturers skimp out on putting in a metal bearing and sleeve. The rubber and plastic will eventually start to break down from the hot soups and cold smoothies and end up in your food. Ask me how I know this. So hard to find an all stainless steel unit without plastic components. My Bamix was $200, however it has a chrome plated shaft and aluminum footguard - the aluminum has started reacting with milk in the smoothies.
