These are really nice radio's. I use them in conjunction with a helmet earpiece and microphone for communications when racing. They work very well, however I can say that there is no way they even get close to a 37 mile range. They work very well for about 5000 feet, then they cut out and only transmit static. I'm sure if I had an exact line-of-sight, they would get more, but my area has trees and hills that can interfere with the signals.
I love that they float and are waterproof. Although I do not intend on dropping them overboard, the nature of a boat entails things getting wet.
Overall, I'm pretty satisfied with these and I think I will be for quite some time, assuming they hold up. I really wish I could get a mile or two out of the radios at least, but I guess it's just a limitation I'll have to deal with.
Again - don't expect anywhere near 37 miles from these. Even on the High Channels I barely get anything more than a few thousand feet.
