Cyberpower has earned a new believer and the quality, look, and specs are second to none. There's no way I could've built this thing any neater or cheaper. It's huge compared to my old PC but that's to be expected will all of the expandable options. It comes with Windows 10 pre-installed on the SSD too.
You DO NOT need to buy any cords if you're connecting 1 single HD screen. All you need is a regular HDMI cable and you're good to go. Just plug it into the video card that sits horizontally on the back and near the middle of the PC just below the fan. Great picture/graphics! It also comes with the power cord and everything else you need. No need to go out and buy anything else.
The keyboard and mouse that comes with it are a nice touch too. More advanced than average. In all, I'm super satisfied right now. If anything changes I'll update this post, but for now it's like I went from an old Honda to a new Ferrari. Stupid fast! I can't wait to test it out with more demanding games and my music editing programs.
-Great graphics card
-Good price for the parts
-PCIe NVMe SSD is faster than SATA III
-Cable management (looks good inside)
-Cheap power supply
-MSI B150M Bazooka Plus Motherboard (micro ATX, includes a Turbo M.2 port 32Gb/s) [$85]
-Intel Core i5-6402P Processor (2.8 - 3.4 GHz Turbo Boost, Quad-core) [$185]
-MSI GTX 1060 3GT OC Video Card (3072 MB VRAM, 1152 CUDA cores, 1759 MHz Boost Clock) [$199]
-Kingston 8GB Kit (2x4GB) DDR4 RAM at 2133 MHz [$55]
-Intel 600p 128GB PCIe NVMe SSD (M.2 2280 form factor, up to 770 MBps read/ 450 MBps write speeds) [$65]
-Toshiba 1TB 7200 RPM SATA 6 Gb/s 3.5” Internal Hard Drive [$50]
-LG Electronics Internal Super Multi Optical Drive [$18]
-TP-LINK AC600 Wireless Dual Band USB Adapter (in retail packaging) [$25]
-Cooler Master MasterBox 5 Mid-tower Computer Case [$70]
-Microsoft Windows 10 Home 64-bit System Builder OEM (pre-installed and PC disk) [~$90]
-ATNG Power Co. 80 Plus 600 Watt Power Supply (I couldn’t find much info on it, the model number is ATM-600FB if you want to give it a try) [My best guess is about $40]
-CyberPower gaming mouse
-CyberPower gaming keyboard
All of this adds up to about $880 (minus the mouse and keyboard). So this is much cheaper than if you were to build it yourself especially since it’s already assembled and comes with a warranty and tech support.
The startup speed on the computer is amazing because of the PCIe NVMe SSD. Running Windows 10 vanilla (without startup programs like chrome) startup is under 5 seconds. Now, the Intel 600p in this model is a very cheap PCIe NVMe SSD, but it’s still much better than any SATA III SSD. I got read speeds up to 770 MB/s. SATA III typically maxes out around 550 MB/s. Another great aspect is the graphics card, the GTX 1060. This is the perfect choice for a mid-range card. It has spectacular value for performance. I also love the case that comes with this PC. It’s mid-tower so there’s plenty of space for expansion. You could add a full ATX motherboard or an extra hard drive or SSD if you need to a few years down the road. The case also allows for effective cable management. CyberPower ran all of the cables out of view, so you can look through the side panel and see the components instead of a jumble of power cords. Speaking of power, I would recommend upgrading the power supply. ATNG Power Co. is a cheap OEM (original equipment manufacturer) that I don’t trust. It’s probably not going to blow up on you, but I would seriously consider replacing it with a trusted consumer brand like EVGA or Corsair. You can find a 600W replacement PSU for around 40 bucks if you look hard enough. Don’t take chances with poor quality PSUs; if it dies there’s a chance it could fry your motherboard, cpu, or graphics card.
One thing I wanted to point out is that the interior of the case is very dark, and I’ve included a picture to show you. I took this picture at night with the lights off, so you can see how little light the LEDs in the case produce. It’s nothing at all like the pictures that CyberPower shows. If you’re considering buying this because of how it looks inside, you might want to consider adding LED light strips. You can get about a few feet of light strips for $10. I’d also like to mention that this PC is pretty big. If you’ve never had a gaming desktop before, you might want to read the description. The case is about 20x19x8”. I’ve included tons of pictures. However, it seems like some of them aren't showing up in the review. Here's a link to an album I uploaded to Imgur with all of the pics. [Amazon won't let me add links to anything that isn't a product on Amazon. So I'll try posting a picture with the link written in. I'll also include a link to the UserBenchmark in that pic if you want a really detailed analysis. Since it's a picture, you can't copy and paste to follow the link, and I'm sorry about that. I can't think of another way to get around it.] Please feel free to leave a comment if you want me to add more.
I hope you found this review to be helpful. If you ask me a question, I'll try to get back to you as soon as possible. I tried to keep this review light on the technical details, but some of them found their way in, inevitably. If you don't know the difference between a PCIe NVMe and SATA III SSD, or how fast a processor should be or which power supplies are reliable, I would really suggest googling it very quickly. I think it would really help to understand how great this PC is for the price. It would also help you to realize where CyberPower cut corners to keep costs low.
1060 3GB is a great card (i got the reference version in this build)
i5 6400 CPU is up to par and does not bottleneck this card
SSD + HDD w/ OS preinstalled on SSD and boots lightning fast
Free Mouse, Keyboard, and Wifi USB adapter
Plenty of Ventilation, the PC Case has amble space and room for future expansion
Simple plug in and play, no hassle to get into gaming
2 intake in front fans and one exhaust with open ventilation at top for more fans if you want.Standard downward facing PSU, but amble space for it to sit on a floor (I do not recommend on carpet for any psu)
Free 1 year Mcafee Security
Free Headset when you register at Cyberpowerpc
I think maybe the SSD or something makes a constant high pitch noise for mine (will see if there is a solution when i call support)
Cable management is good when looking through window, but open back panel and it could have been done better and neater, but thats just me.
PSU/RAM seem to be on the low end side and probably best to replace with reputable brands like Corsair
I would recommend as of now.
