This is a five-star cable for both its high-quality construction and flawless performance, even in the most demanding HD video applications. No, it's not as slick looking as the Monster MC 1000HD version, but it actually has better specs than the Monster and costs less than one-fifth the price. This is a no brainer decision if ever there was one, and a bargain to boot.

BUT… if you need an HDMI cable with one elbow connection like this one, you MUST also know if you need a 90 degree or 270 degree elbow (Cable Matters makes both kinds), which will depend on the connection at your TV or other A/V equipment. Here's how to find out which one you need…

First, take a close-up look at the HDMI elbow connection on this 90 degree cable. See how one side of the gold connector is slightly tapered and narrower than the other side? See how the narrower side is oriented towards the cable itself? This is a 90 degree elbow. If you look at the 270 degree elbow, you'll see that it looks exactly the same except the narrower side of the connector is oriented away from the cable. Why is this important? Here's why…

Take a look at the female HDMI connection that you plan to use on your TV or A/V device. Note which way the narrower side is oriented--is it in the same direction you want the cable to go or in the opposite direction? If it's in the same direction, choose a 90 degree elbow… if it's the opposite direction, choose a 270 degree. For example, I was using an HDMI connection on the side of my flat panel TV and I wanted the cable to go towards the back of the set. On the set's female connection, the narrower portion was oriented towards the back of the set… so I chose the 90 degree elbow.

If you need a compact, high quality HDMI right angle adapter, then look no further. I grabbed a bunch of these for some installations lately, and have been thoroughly pleased.

There's not much to say since it's just a simple adapter, but I can say the fit is nice and snug (no worry about the cable falling out), and it's compact which allows for a nice tight angled fit behind TVs and equipment on the wall.

PROS:

* Gold plated

* Snug fit, no worries of cables getting loose

* Compact, great for behind equipment

ANGLE NOTES:

This is a 270* right angle adapter, which is a right angle but opposite direction of a 90* adapter. What this means: Picture an HDMI outlet on a wall. The smaller side of the connection is the bottom side. A normal 90* right angle adapter will cause the outlet to face downward to the floor. A 270* right angle will cause the outlet to face upward at the ceiling.

Look closely at the product photo and you'll see what I mean. Make sure that 270* is what you need for your project. If not, go with a 90* adapter such as HDMI Right Angle Male to Female Adapter

In many cases, including wall outlets such as keystone slots, you can always flip the HDMI outlet around to fit the adapter.

I have an older Sharp Aquos 32" television that's always been in a cabinet. I had it mounted on a Rocketfish swivel mount in another room, but the Rocketfish mount partially covered the HDMI ports.

I was able to connect a Wii with the 3-color RCA cables - those ports were accessible - and also Sharper Image wireless headphones - also accessible. But the Panasonic DVD player could not be connected.

This little plug did the trick. It was just short enough to fit in the available space between the port and the edge of the Rocketfish panel, and then the angle allowed me to plug in the HDMI cable for the Panasonic.

There's different plugs available....270 degrees, and "flat" plugs, and other adapters for vertical ports. I wasn't too sure which one I needed. (I'm a gardener - not particularly savvy with electronics....) So I ordered one of each - this one, and the two other types from a different seller (but all through Amazon). These plugs are so inexpensive, I probably won't bother to return the others.

If this review is over-simplified, it's because I was trying to write one that would make sense for other non-technical middle-aged grandmothers!

Purchased because Panasonic decided to move all HDMI ports to the side (at least on the 2012 ST50 plasma models). This helped attach the cable from TV to receiver while avoiding odd kinks. Allows ARC passthrough.

I purchased this to use on the 4th HDMI port on my Hannspree TV. The way the port is set up, most HDMI Cables that are firm would stick past the side of the TV. with this I was able to Route my cable the same direction as the 3 main cables on the back of the TV. I would recommend anyone with an extra HDMI Port on the side of the TV to use one of these. It's cheap and it works just as good, but just to clarify, I did make sure that I needed a 270 Degree adapter before purchasing this. There is a 90 Degree Adapter like this if you need that angle so make sure it's the right degree for your needs before ordering.

Good Adapter, Easy to Hookup and into, and works very well without distorting image or sound quality.
