These work great on my Mac Pro & Samsung U28D590, runs perfect 3840x2160 @ 60hz.

**WARNING FOR MAC PRO USERS** still running OS X v10.9, with the Samsung U28D590 monitor you will get some horizontal screen blurring on the far right 5% of your monitor when running full HD @60hz. This is not a cable issue, as I first had suspected. The issue has been traced to a GPU driver flaw when running 10.9 (this happens on the D500 & D700 GPU's only). Updating to Yosemite 10.10 easily solves the problem.

Recently bought a Dell monitor that has a Display Port (not a mini display port) and a VGA (does anyone still use those) as well as a DVI-D. I had been using a Mini Port to DVI adapter for connection to my Surface Pro 3 docking station. The trouble was that when starting up the Surface Pro 3 with it docked the monitor would come up with a distorted image. I'd have to cycle the power to get it to work. If the Surface Pro 3 was in Tablet Mode when booted up, when the monitor was turned on, the image would be crisp and clear. But the problem was always when booted into desktop mode. I had a reason to use the miniport to DVI-D adapter for a MacBook Pro I am also using with an external monitor, so I bought this adapter as a somewhat better interface between the monitor and the Surface Pro 3 - since the translation from Mini DIsplay Port to Display Port is has less potential for distortion. The surprise is that problem I have been having at starting up in desktop mode has not gone away. Obviously the problem was in the way the monitor synchs the initial signal from the computer. For anyone having a similar problem, this is a solution.

We couldn't get this to work running at 4k@60Hz. Came back to the Amazon page and facepalmed when we read this in the product description: - Supports resolutions up to 3840 x 2160 @ 30 Hz

Some other reviewers claim to have gotten 4k@60Hz, but that's not guaranteed by the product. So:

5 stars: Works as advertised!
-1 star: I wouldn't have bought this if it was more clearly labeled as DisplayPort 1.1.

This works perfectly connecting my Dell 2416D although have problems with 2560x1440 resolution as the icons and imaging are much too small so I used the 1600x900 display. That every well might be a product of my own ignorance in how to set up the computer, however and not the cable. As Is, the cable is very sturdy and strong and I would expect it to last a lifetime.

Worked as expected. Allowed me to connect two 6' cables laying around doing nothing creating a 12' cable that worked fine at 2560x1440@60Hz. I have not tried this at 4K, but then I would probably buy a single cable for that. connectors like this have their limitations.

I'm not sure I received it from a bad batch or something, I bought this to connect my MacBook Pro to a 27" display/monitor. The cable was initially OK with occasional connection glitches that were usually fixed with a little tug or twist of the adapter.

But it has been consistently getting worse, and it finally stopped working no matter how I twist or try to apply pressure to it. In hindsight, the connection between this adaptor and mac is a little too loose and not very solid.

In case you're wondering, I don't connect my mac to the display very often. The only times I use it, is after I went out for a trip and came back with photos I shot. I download my photos to Lightroom and use the big monitor to process and edit photos. Those trips don't happen very often, I'd say about half dozen times a year. After each trip, I spend about a week doing the photo processing... otherwise I don't use my 27" monitor at all. I'd categorize my usage of the adapter as light or occasional.

So unless what I got happen to be a defective one, I cannot recommed this product.
