Dead on arrival

This cable was dead on arrival. I spent a bit of time carefully running this cable behind my walls and in the attic in tight spaces. Plugged it up, and........... nothing! I tested my wall plate with 2 shorter Cat6 cables and router. I also tested multiple ports on my router with shorter cable. No problems with my router, wall plate, or other Cat6 cables. I should have tested this cable before spending time running it behind walls and killing myself in a hot attic. VERY ANNOYING! What's worse is that I am so annoyed that I do not want to spend time pulling the cable back out of the walls to return it. I'm going to cut the cable and use it to pull a better product through the walls.

This cam rolled up in a tight roll. I thought for sure it was going to be a nightmare of curled wire that would snag on everything. I almost just threw it in a drawer and made due with the too short cable I was already using. When I unrolled the cable if fell out straight with just a little bit of smoothing. Oh I was really happy about that. The construction is very good and the price is AWESOME! I'm an AmazonBasics fan and they were out of their 25' cable so I ordered this one, I'm happy I did because I am impressed with this cable and I will buy more of their products in the future.

To even better tackle the issue of that pesky crosstalkin', Cat 6 cable has an internal separator that isolates pairs from one another. For those who want to "future-proof" their residential or commercial network as much as possible without a significant cost increase, Cat 6 is a great choice.

Decent patch cords for Gigabit

Decent patch cords. They're not the thickest 6's I've seen but they are very nice. Certainly the clips are top quality and look like they'll last a long time even with repeated removal and insertion into the port. Getting almost 3/4 Gigabit doing a very simple Lan Speed Test read and write with 20MB file from a Windows 7 i5 laptop to a Linux i5 laptop both with Gigabit adapters and both connected through a TP-LINK SV2000 2 Gigabit powerline adapter. Note that this essentially skips the router and acts as a straight through bypassing the the powerline alltogether and thus the reason the performance is so good - but it demonstrates that the patch cords can likely do a true Gigabit - even if this is a simple test on a short 10 foot run with no crosstalk potential of any kind.

I ordered gigabit service and the installer put in 5e cables from modem to router. I was checking speeds and was getting max 200Mbps over wifi. I ordered this pack being the shortest length I needed. I checked speeds again and am now getting about 440Mbps over wifi. Shame on my provider but thanks to Cable matters for a few dollars I am very happy with my wifi speeds using these cables.
