The sound quality is rather poor. There is a lot of noise from the cables themselves, which is somewhat less than expected as the casing of the cable seems better than the average. I primarily used this cable to connect my iPod to my car through an auxilary jack, but also experienced the aforementioned issues when connecting to a a speaker set.
I have since began using a cable bought for two dollars at a local discount store without any issues. In conclusion, even if one desires a cheap auxillary cable, this is one product to avoid. Amazon as well as local stores have plenty of other superior options at this price, and such an alternative should be pursued to avoid frustration.
It's cheap, it works, it's a cable. Enjoy.
- Long Cable Length makes it easy to reach 2nd row seating in automobile.
- Cable Connectors appear to be Sturdy.
- Cables are Thicker Gauge.
- Good Sound Quality through Cables.
- Low Cost.
- Cables are Stiff at Temperatures below 10 C.
- Cable length may be too much for use in just the front row seating in an automobile.
I purchased these Male-to-Male cable connectors to interface MP3 or Cell Phone players with the sound system in an automobile (Van). They work very good for that. The 6ft. length long enough to reach 2nd row seating or to the edges of the passenger compartment without problems. 3ft cables are just too short for that.
These cables are heavy gauge with sturdy connectors. I have not owned them long enough to state that they will last a long time but they feel sturdy. Nothing is loose. The connector ends are chrome plated, not gold plated. IMO, for most applications (like in automobiles), chrome is superior for durability over gold even though there may be some signal loss over gold plating. If you repeatedly plug-in/plug-out of the jack, chrome is superior to gold for wear resistance.
The downside for these cables is that they are not flexible at temperatures below 5-10 C.. If you use these in an environment where it gets cold, there is some possibility that the casing on the cables may crack over time. The price of these cables was very low such that you can afford to purchase several and keep a spare handy in case that occurs. Just be sure to warm up the spare before using it.
Another potential disadvantage is that these cables are potentially too long such that they "get in the way" for just front seat automobile use.Read more ›
