This cable would be OK for a set of headphones but you should not use it in the signal path between a source device, like an MP3 player or computer, and an amplifier. The shielding is so poor in this cable that it will pickup a considerable amount of 60Hz EMI (aka hum) and you won't like the results.

I bought this cable to connect my high-end Dell portable computer to the Sony pre-amplifier unit of my home entertainmenet system. I wanted to use my portable as an MP3 player since it's a lot easier to program and create playlists on a 17" computer screen than any of the portable MP3 players I've seen. When I had everything hooked up I experienced a very noticeable hum from my stereo speakers even before starting the player application on the computer. At first I thought I had a ground loop so I removed all other external cables (power, usb, ethernet) from the computer, running it on battery only. Still the hum persisted. Even with the AUD-1100-25 cable unplugged from the computer the hum persisted.

I then replaced the AUD-1100-25 with a pair of RCA cables w/ RCA to 1/8" stereo adapters and the hum went away. The RCA cables were hand-made with some quality shielded cable with the connectors hand-soldered by me. What a difference. So, that's what I ended up using.

Although I think Monster Cables and the like are a way over-priced, this product has gone too far in the other direction. I don't recommend this item if you're going to use it in an application that will amplify the signal (and noise) coming through the cable. It's easy to see why this cable is so cheap.

Whenever the cable bends near the connector the audio crackles. Tried with different cable and it doesn't crackle. I wish I got a higher quality cable.

**update** Crackling is tolerable if you don't move the cable near the connectors. Works but not highest quality. added 1 star to 3 stars.

Worked fine for a little under three months. Now when the cable is flexed at the connector's strain relief point some of the audio cuts out.

I bought this at the beginning of 2010 and it gave me about 2 years of uncompromised performance. Sometime in 2012, the end I plug into my computer started wearing out, and the sound would flicker in and out. Wiggling the end helped for a few months, but then the inside connection eventually gave way. I don't intend to replace my electronic cables every 2 years, so I'm shopping for a higher quality cable that will last me a lifetime--or at least 10 good years. If you need a long audio cable in a pinch and don't foresee needing it after a couple of years, it's a good deal. Otherwise, you get what you pay for.

The worst product I've ever, every, ever bought on Amazon.
I own a party bus company, and a good auxiliary cable is essential.
These are flimsy. Very flimsy.
I bought a LOT of these in one purchase because they were cheap.
Every one of them, and I am not exaggerating, every single one quit working in 4 to 12 weeks.
After this lesson, I knew I would have to buy better/heavier built (quality), meaning more expensive aux cables.
After looking at hundreds and hundreds if them on Amazon, I ended up buying white ones, with the good plated ends.
DAY AND NIGHT DIFFERENCE.
I have not had to replace one, not one single white aux cable yet!
They are MUCH HEAVIER insulated (sheathed), and heavier plug.
Saving me lots of money, time, stress, and most importantly:
*customers who were mad with these, because they had no music when the tiny wire inside the cable snapped).
Versus...
*Customers satisfied with the heavy weight (thick internal wires) white cables, because music and dancing for all the boys they paid.
These are worthless.
Buy the heavy duty constructed white ones.

This wire is very thin and feels cheap, I't didn't work for what I was trying to do but it wasn't the wires fault, I'm trying to get rid of the feedback noise from my comp to my converter box to my tv, this worked the same if not a little worse than the one I already have built into my VGA cable. I would recommend this for the price and the length just to get by but beware it is the one of the cheapest feeling wires you will ever see. I thought it was twelve feet for how small it rolls up till I re read twenty five feet and I said wow. I recommend if having any high end stuff to spend another five bucks and buy a lifetime wire instead of this one. One benefit of this wire is it rolls up to a tiny hoop and would fit easily in a velcro case with your portable cd player. Good for just getting by.

Update: they sit in a closet so nothing new, but I did think to ad that they are great for portability being so thin and I'm sure they work fine, just didn't clear out the hum between my comp and my tv same as one I had built in my vga cable. So anyway, ez to through in a bookbag or nap sack and have that cable with you it takes up no room.

Ever want to bump some College Droupout in the living room but your aux cable is in the kitchen? What about trying to stream the world premier of Views and don't want to get up? This cable can seriously change your life. For the simple one time payment of whatever the price is, the 25 foot aux cable will make the length of your aux cable an issue of the past.

Beware: if you are using an iPhone that has a case around the headphone port, this cable may not fit perfectly. Please do not assume that it will as you will be severely disappointed.
