If you have a PS/2 KB and mouse and a newer PC (or motherboard) with only one PS/2 port. This is the adapter for you.

I have 2 PCs using just one KB & mouse, needed to continue using them as is. Tried another adapter, didn't work. Read the reviews here and gave it a shot.

It works, if you need it get it. You will not be disappointed.

Going to use on a barcode scanner? Beware of imitations! This is the one that works.

I got these for adapting PS/2 barcode scanners to new USB only PCs. They work great. There are a lot of other, identical looking, cheaper ones out there. Don't bother with them. They don't work. We have about 30 of these in service with no problems.

This adapter worked well for about two weeks and then it started to malfunction out on me. The num lock, cap lock and scroll lock lights would start blinking rapidly and the keyboard became unresponsive. I would then have to power down and plug into another USB port to get it to work again. I guess i'll have to try a more expensive one.

I ordered two of these cables to use with new workstations that lack PS2 ports, but need to work with KVM extenders that only support PS2 ports. They worked great - so I ordered two more. Those two arrived in generic packaging, and while they look a lot like the USB-2400 cable, they are not exactly the same. The USB-2400 is an active converter cable, the generic is not. They work fine if you are connecting mouse and keyboard directly to the cable - but if you are using a KVM switch or extender - make sure you get the real USB-2400.

Especially great for PS/2 peripherals

I used to think this was a commodity product like water or electricity, but not anymore. I have tried to get PS/2 point-of-sale scanners to work with other PS/2-to-USB converters without any success, but this one works perfectly. I have used this on 3 computers without any problems at all. In one application, a PS/2 keyboard is going through a keyboard-video-mouse switch and then through this converter into a desktop computer that does not have "legacy" ports --- it works perfectly. I give the highest possible recommendation for this product.

I needed this to connect an older Microsoft ergonomic keyboard with PS2 plug to modern USB receptacle in Dell flat screen monitor. Works perfect. I am not using the PS2 mouse plug, so I cannot say whether is works or not but I have no reason to believe it would not. Very good quality. I ordered with other items. Amazon sent this item first, took 4 or 5 days.

Keyboard is the BEST. I wish they still made them.

I have an 8 station KVM switch and this does not work. When I move the mouse around it does a right click even when my hand is not on the button. I bought this item because some of the reviews said it worked well with KVM's. I plugged it into the computer via usb and then plugged in the two ps/2 ends from my KVM. I thought maybe it might just be the computer, so I tried it on another computer and it is just as bad as the first computer.
