Like some of the other reviews, both of the adapters I received had mono jacks that were out of spec. I tested them each with several mono plugs. One adapter was so loose it literally rattled around on the end of my mono plugs. The other spun freely on mono plugs, barely hanging on. Neither one worked. I don't know how you get an adapter wrong. Do not buy.

I needed it to connect my mono surveillance earpiece to monitor audio during my livestream. My 3.5mm plug is so loose inside this thing it loses connection if I move the cable at all. In desperation I tried to make it work by trying to holding everything in place with duct tape, but the plug still manages to lose connectivity inside the adapter at the slightest touch. Read the other reviews first and you'll find it isn't a rare occurrence. This adapter sucks. Buy it at your own risk. I recommend that you don't.

This was the perfect solution to. Connect my unbalanced (two conductor mic) fo a balanced (three conductor) I put. Saved my buying a new microphone. My specific case was to correct my ham radio headset (Heil) to a jack designed for a computer gaming headset. (I use a second adapted to plug the separate microphone and earphone connections into a four conductor mobile phone connection.

I couldn't get a good solid connection with either of these. Some kind of dimensional problem allowed them to wiggle in the jack causing intermittent connections. Might have been the jack, but other plugs seem to work OK.

I received the package and the connectors work as expected except on one of the adapters, the female end had a broken spring detent. It wouldn't grab a male end at all and the adapter would just fall off. I poked at it with a paperclip and got the detent to work a bit, but It is still loose enough to have a bad connection if the cable is bumped. Hopefully you have better luck than me if you choose to buy.

My Escort powered speaker has a mono 3.5mm input which does not work with Uniden R3 radar detector with a stereo output. With this adapter, the problem was solved instantly! No issues so far and with two, I can actually use it with one of the Lav that has mono input as well.

Tolerances on the female end of these plugs are very poor. Plugs inserted are loose. This creates lots of noise in the channel. If you're planning to use these for microphone inputs (mono to stereo), they won't work.
