Café Altura Regular Roast Decaf Can
Organically grown, pre-ground decaffeinated coffee
Café Altura employs a patented, organically certified decaffeination process to remove 97% of the available caffeine. Our Plant uses only water and carbon filter to separate the caffeine, while leaving all the flavor components in the coffee.
Caffeine is a naturally occurring compound in coffee, and it is considered completely safe for consumption. Some customers do not react well to caffeine, so this special water process separates the caffeine without the aid of harmful chemicals. Soaking in the specifically prepared water also removes acidity from the coffee, resulting in flavorful, low acid coffee for those sensitive to both caffeine and acidity.
- Decaf processing removes/ lowers the acidity of the coffee
- Patented process ensures that the rich taste remains in the coffee
- Both the coffee and the decaf processes are certified organic and are inspected on a yearly basis.

I'm glad it is organic. I only buy organic coffees after I found out that pesticides that have long been outlawed in the US are commonly in use in the third world countries where coffee is grown and they are used on coffee. But thankfully, not this one.
If you are looking for an everday coffee that is better than Folgers, you have found it! It isn't an earth-shattering coffee. You have to use much more per cup than a regular coffee, just like most decafs, and the flavor is better than most if you like a medium roast (if you like dark roasts, keep looking!.
It can actually be hard to find a medium roast in a decaf. Probably because they are trying to find a way to get more flavor into the end result by roasting it a bit darker. A solid, every day coffee at a very competitive price for organic. The only comparible price for organic decaf is Trader Joe's--however they only carry darker roasts. This satisfies my desire for my favorite kind of coffee without worry about dangerous pesticides.
If you use the same amount of coffee than you would use as usual, it tastes nothing, it tastes water. It's when you double the dose that it tastes something.... And this taste if not good at all (for me).
Now I have 3 packs of coffee that I will never use.
This is an awful coffee, it's going to the trash, all 3 cans. The coffee is weak and tasteless, who knows what kind of garbage it's made of. It also contains 3 times more caffeine than an average decaf coffee brand. Don't waste your money.
