I wanted to give this a long enough test period to write a review, because a few other reviews were talking about it clogging up and not working. First, I love this thing, I've used it every day since purchasing, so a few months now, and I've never soaked it even one time in a vinegar solution... After the first week of just rinsing it out after using, it started to clog up and not work right.... So I used a paper towel with Seventh Generation dishsoap (instead of my dishbrush so I could really get all the surfaces) and washed it good, then rinsed it really well. It worked perfect again after that. Now I do this same thing every 3-4 days of use and have zero problems. The coffee always tastes great and it's so nice to not have to deal with plastic coffee makers. Thank you!

Stops Working Over Time

When I first bought this - I loved it. Loved it so much that I bought a 2nd one. Even though I read the reviews about how the performance deteriorates over time, I chalked it up to too fine of a ground or improper cleaning. Unfortunately, after today, I am laying them to rest. They no longer perform at all. One doesn't completely drain at all; the other takes so long that the coffee is lukewarm by the time it's finished. Trust me, I did everything that was advised to the size of the ground, to the cleaning, to the recommended ways of cleaning by others - to no avail. I am truly disappointed as it started out as a great product but only lasted a couple of months. And, I'm out over $50 for purchasing one for myself and one for my wife. Would not recommend.

Rich Flavor, But it Clogs about 50% of Time, Wastes Time & Causes Frustration - Pass!

I bought this six months ago and looked forward to using it due to good reviews. After using it since receiving it, I'm disappointed and will look for something else. PROS: Rich flavor when no additional filter used, stainless steel not plastic, more environmentally conscious if used without a paper filter. CONS: It clogs and wastes time at least 50% of the time. Even after daily cleaning with a brush and hot soapy water, and following instructions to first wet the grounds with a small amount of water, wait 20 seconds to let them bloom and then pour hot water slowly in a circular motion toward the outer edges of the filter, it keeps clogging completely or dripping so slowly that the meager amount of coffee you do get is no longer hot by the time your cup is 3/4 full. I have even soaked it in 6% acidity vinegar all day and night and then scrubbed it, to no avail. I wanted to like this, but it causes more frustration than it's worth - not a good way to start the day. Pass on this one.

I had used Mr. Coffee single cup machine for a year, then I started to notice some weird flakes that were coming out with water, obviously it was just limescale and buildup on the inside. I used so many "cleaning" solutions to clean the inside where the water heats up but it was pointless. Every cup of coffee had weird white flakes in it. So I decided, to give this a try.. Oh my goodness, why haven't I done that before! it is so simple and soooooooo easy, It just blew my mind. Some people complain that they cant clean it out completely, I don't have that problem. I wash it right after I make my coffee while the metal is still hot and it all comes out just fine. I love it! The coffee tastes so much better too! I grind the coffee beans and have real, fresh, delicious cup of coffee every morning. It's fantastic! Bye-bye K-cups!!!!!!

Work well , but if you use finer coffee ground it will get clogged , and very difficult to clean , as the 2 layers of filter cannot be separated and cleaned .
so use coarse ground only . I thick that is how I ruined mine

This product has helped make the best cup of coffee I have ever made myself. I used the same coffee that I used previously when I had a ceramic cone and paper filter. This previous ceramic cone did a very good job of producing what I thought was a very good cup of coffee ....until I had a great cup of coffee that the Cafellissimo paperless pour over coffee maker helped brew for me! The flavor of the coffee brewed without the paper is superb! And this from what I would consider medium grade coffee. I also brewed coffee for two of my coffee officianado friends, and one of them stated that this was the best coffee he had tasted ever! All I can say is that this makes "blow your socks off" coffee every time. I am grateful and glad to all the posters who took the time to inform me here on Amazon. I also used a non bleached paper filter on the Cafellissimo to help me make an appropriate comparison with my previous way of brewing coffee. It was a little better that my previous method using the paper filter and ceramic, but nowhere as good as when brewing without the paper filter. I would highly recommend this product to any coffee-head. LOL! So much so, I bought a second one right away as a gift for another dear coffee lover like myself.

Regarding cleaning: all I can say is that, whereas using a paper filter makes cleanup a breeze, you sacrifice a whole lot of flavor. However, such usaage does have its place when one is in a hurry. That said, it only takes some extra time to chuck out most of the coffee grids into my compost bin, and pass water reverse flow through the filter to clean it out. I want a great coffee experience every time I use this, so I figure, a little effort in cleaning will guarantee me that. Enjoy!

I received this in July 2016 because I didn't want to dispose of paper filters and loved it at first. I didn't really use it until the fall since I like iced coffee during the hot Texas summers. Even then, I only used it about once a weekend since I get decent coffee at the office. After only about 2 months of using it (so that's approximately 8 times), I noticed the flow slowed down drastically, like 2-3 times longer to drip. I tried putting the unit in boiling water to dissolve any oils, which helped a bit but not much. Then I soaked in Dawn to be more aggressive on the oils. Still no help. At this point, I give up. I feel like I wasted $25.

1. The base could be larger diameter (we have big coffee mugs, and it just reaches the edges of the mugs)
2. The space between the base and the cone is small, so it's difficult to see how full the cup is as you pour

Todo lo que dije en el review inicial es cierto. Lo del sabor del café, etc.
El problema es que no dura un par de usos sin que se tape aun lavándolo con jabón de trastes (cosa que no me gusta porque le deja aroma a jabón), lo he hervido, sumergido en vinagre, etc..Dura una o dos veces digamos normal, y se vuelve a tapar, haciendo el proceso bastante frustrante.
Por lo pronto me regreso a filtro de papel (Hario)

Está bien construída y con buen material. Me gustó porque es una sola pieza. Hay otras que el cono viene separado de la base (Que sirven para meter el puro cono a un Chemex) pero preferí ésta para no perder la base.
La velocidad de extracción es adecuada y le saca muy buen sabor al café. A mi gusto mejor que filtro de papel.
