The smooth, elegant, Thermique offers a winning combination of practicality and style. Its double wall stainless steel body and lid keep coffee hot three times longer than a conventional cafetière. The polished lines make it a design statement in any kitchen.
What is a French Press?
A French Press is a coffee maker with a plunger made of fine mesh. The plunger is used to push the coffee grounds to the bottom when the coffee is ready to be poured. This full immersion method of brewing enhances the flavors and oils from the coffee grounds, delivering a unique coffee experience.
What you will need:
In order to brew the perfect cup, you will need hot water just off the boil, coarse ground coffee, and your La Cafetière Press.
A Guide to Perfect Brewing
Remove the lid and plunger from your French Press, and add one heaping scoop of ground coffee per normal sized cup. (Scoop is included).
Fill the beaker with hot water, leaving a 1 inch space at the top, and gently stir.
Keep plunger raised, and replace the lid to prevent steam from escaping. Let it brew for 3-5 minutes in this position.
Push plunger down slowly, holding the handle of the press firmly with the other hand.
This elegantly shaped aluminum stove top hot cocoa maker is designed to heat your milk and blend your choice of chocolate into a lovely frothy confection simultaneously. Pour your milk into the pot and add your preferred chocolate. Powder, flakes or chips will all work equally well. Place your pot on the stove (we're sorry-this is not induction ready) and heat to the desired temperature. Pump the built in frother up and down until your chocolate is thoroughly mixed and your milk has reached the desired frothiness. You will be amazed at how this elevates a simple cup of cocoa into an indulgent treat.

However after very little use the metal base plate separated from the pot leaving it useless.
The instructions said " fit for all stove tops but not suitable for induction"
Secondly, it says you can use on the stove, BUT if you have a "gas" stove you will need a diffuser. Once you buy the diffuser and proceed to heat the milk or milk substitute, it will take 20-30 minutes to reach a slight boil. You could easily just heat your liquid in a regular (healthy) stainless steel pot, add your chocolate mix- of choice- and enjoy your cup of cocoa.
This is a total waste of time, money, and cupboard space.
It has a nice non-stick interior so when making hot chocolate that part cleans up rather easily. Particularly if you just swish a bit of water it in right away. The mesh frother (attached to the lid, a metal rod with two mesh disks at the bottom) takes more work to clean. I've found if I immediately fill the pot with hot soapy water and then push the frother up and down a few times I can then leave it until it's time to wash the dishes and I won't have very many little bits dried onto the frother.
