It took longer to put together this toy than all the other Christmas presents combined. Pieces large and small come off regularly, and it's built so that it tips over if the swing set isn't extended just so. It's Caillou, so he still likes it, but for daddy's money it's a lemon.

How someone could manufacture this toy for the age level it is for is beyond me.
It comes in a million pieces, and if you are able to get it assembled it will fall apart in about 30 seconds worth of play.
Our 2 year old twins play with it but are constantly frustrated because it falls apart with just normal play. Our 6 year old loves it though.....because he loves to assemble things, and this toy needs constant assembling. Seriously thinking about gluing together.

I really wish a big name brand company would come out with some good sturdy Caillou toys. This is absolutely ridiculous. It comes with so many pieces to assemble it took about a half hour to put it together! The ladder just rests on the front of the house and doesn't attach in any way. As soon as you move the toy or my daughter goes to make the figures climb up the ladder it falls off. Also the fence around the top part falls off regularly as well. The figures do not stay well put on the spinning part, as well as the swing. It's too difficult for my 2 year old to get them on by herself. Also there is no way to have the figures stay on the tire swing; you have to hold them on as you swing them. Just silly. The cardboard pieces that are placed on inside of the tree house fall off as well. If this toy had been manufactured by another big name company I'm sure it would have come in one piece and have been much better quality. I'm frustrated for my 2 year old that there are no decent Caillou play sets out there. She does try and play with it but always need assistance with something that has fallen off. It's just not a very practical toy for the young children that it is geared towards.

I purchased this toy for my 4 year old Calliou fanatic . What a let down! I should have read through the reviews before purchasing. This toy is so poorly constructed and engineered that the pieces fall off constantly causing major frustration. The figurines are too large to interact and fit with the tree house. This has to be one of the worst toys ever. We tried for a day to make this work because my four year old wanted to keep it but after a short time, he was over it. I The design is so poor that the whole thing easily tips over causing it to fall apart. What good is this tree house if the figurines it comes with do not even fit? I can't believe anyone would actually keep this toy because it is so useless. Save your money, your time and frustration, do not buy this! Poorly made, bad design, piece of garbage!

We got this for our 2 1/2 year old, who was really excited to have a set featuring her favorite TV characters, but it was a huge disappointment. First you have to rescue the many pieces from the horrible packaging and attempt to put them together.

Amazingly the set requires inserting plastic pieces into a cardboard base, so this is your first sign you are dealing with a low quality product. Nothing really stays together once it's assembled so you have to constantly supervise play and help the kids put everything back how is supposed to go. The tree house falls out of the base, the ladder falls off, the tire swing assembly comes apart, etc.. This toy basically stays in one place and still manages to come completely apart each day, there is no way a kid could carry it to another room or to a friend's house to play with it without losing half the pieces.

The only redeeming feature of this set was getting the 4 character figures for our Caillou-lover, but that isn't worth the sticker price.

As parents and consumers, we should stop accepting such low quality and durability in toys. I only wish retailers like Amazon had some standards for what they will sell.

Oh my gosh, where do I start. HARD to put together. It took my husband 45 minutes, and he's usually pretty good with putting stuff together. My son played with it once. Now all the pieces are everywhere and it's basically garbage. Maybe he could keep the actual treehouse, but I wish we hadn't bought this. It was a total waste.

My 2 year old was very excited to get this toy. He picked it out himself, & was really happy about it. He couldn't wait for me to put it together. Which took FOREVER. The instructions aren't very clear, & the pieces don't really fit together like you'd expect them to.

Once we got it together, it kept tipping over. The only place you can play with it is a very sturdy, very flat surface, with the treehouse open to a certain angle. My son didn't seem to mind, but I did, because I had to keep righting it.

It comes with a little "cardboard" mat for underneath, but it's as flimsy as paper. What I did was glue it to a thick, hard piece of corrugated cardboard, then let it dry. The next day I cut around the mat, so the cardboard would be the same exact shape/size. I did it to a second piece, & put it underneath the first. Then I took clear packing tape & I wrapped it around both pieces of cardboard & the little mat. It was perfectly clear, but very, very hard & firm. This way, my son couldn't break the little mat, & it also would serve as stability for him to use it somewhere other than the kitchen table. It was kind of a lot of work, when they could have easily made the mat out of something more durable.

The figures are pretty cute, but the arms & legs don't move very well at all. Definitely cheap, although they ARE weighty.

My son lost interest within the first week. Most likely I will sell it, & buy my son something better. He LOVES Caillou, but this is just not worth it.
