5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent calendar app for the Kindle April 29, 2011
Verified Purchase
(Reviewed on a Kindle 3, 3G)
Summary: If you're looking for a calendar app to track your schedule, appointments, etc. on your Kindle, then look no further; this is the app for you.

Calendar Pro's interface will look very familiar to users of Microsoft Outlook's calendar, or other similar scheduling applications. With intuitive hotkeys to jump from view to view (y = year, m = month, d = day, t = today, a = agenda), viewing your calendar and scheduled items is extremely straightforward.

You can easily see at a glance which days have items scheduled (yearly view highlights days with a block, monthly puts a dot above the date). Page forward and page back buttons do just what you'd expect them to (page from year to year, month to month, day to day, depending on what view you're in).

Creating or editing new schedule items is a cinch, with multiple ways to start the process (hotkey 'c', menu, clicking 5-way control on an hour in the daily view, etc). The interface has clearly laid out and labelled fields for title, start date/time, end date/time, where, and description.

The only time that the controls weren't 100% intuitive was when I was entering the end time for an event, and I thought pushing down on the 5-way would take me to the next field, and instead lowered the number in that field. (However, if I would have pressed the clearly visible 'Help' button, and read the clear, concise help text for this screen, I would have known that in advance!)

I've only been using Calendar Pro for less than an hour, and already consider it a must-have for anyone who wants to use their Kindle for anything more than reading books. At only $0.99, you just can't go wrong here.

3.0 out of 5 stars A few problems which could be easily rectified May 9, 2011
Verified Purchase
This is a very good product - but - a few minor points which make it unworkable for me.

Firstly you can not have recurring appointments - i have regular appointments every friday and monday and don't want to have to type them in all the time.

Secondly, no facility to copy and paste which would have made the first omission a little more acceptable.

Thirdly, no facility to back up your planner in the same way that the notepad by 7 dragons allows you to.

Finally when you are in day view you can see the date but not the day, which for me is very important.

A little more thought would have made this an excellent app for my kindle but i guess i will have to wait for something which ticks all my boxes.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great app! April 30, 2011
Verified Purchase
This app will fill my need for being able to access a calendar whenever I need one, wherever I am. :) While I mostly use my Kindle for it's main design -- reading -- I like having the option to use it for other things. Now if there was a way to sync this to my Google calendar or my Outlook calendar at work... however even if I just use this for keeping track of birthdays, I think this will be very handy to have.

4.0 out of 5 stars Calendar for Kindle April 30, 2011
Verified Purchase
Calendar Pro is a nice app for the Kindle. Like most Kindle apps it is only available for USA customers.

When you open the app your choices are:
* Go to Today
* Agenda
* Help
* About

I wish there was one more option on the open screen: Year View. Lots of times I just need to see a quick calendar for possible dates. Since the year view also shades dates you have scheduled it would allow a quick glance to see if a date is available. As an aside, the year view is one I wish I could set as one of my Kindle screensavers if Amazon ever allows Kindle users to choose their own screensavers.

Back to review. When you press the Menu button you see:
* Create Event
* go to Today
* Agenda
* Year View
* Month View
* Day View
* Settings (also Help and About)

Create an Event has title, start date/time, end date/time, all day event option (very good), where, description (for notes). All the basics there. Recurring events does not appear to be an available option at this time. It was interesting to see that even when an item is marked as an All Day Event it is saved with the time it was created on the day view and the details displayed at the bottom of the screen.

Overall it is a good, easy to use calendar app for the Kindle. Year view main screen option and recurring events would be good future enhancements. Sync with Google calendar would also be nice.

1.0 out of 5 stars no ability to enter recurring events? really? May 18, 2011
Verified Purchase
if you are going to use this to keep track of recurring events... don't buy it. you won't be able to keep track of birthdays, or recurring events unless you enter them every single time... Who does that? I want my .99 back !!! it is not worth it..

1.0 out of 5 stars DO NOT BUY THIS. May 26, 2011
Verified Purchase
I have had so many problems with this calendar software. I am an organized person and usually really enjoy using calendars, but this one had too many problems. After entering an event, the time on the calendar would change every time I reopened the program.

This is basically JUST a calendar, not a scheduling or planner tool.

When realizing how unsatisfied I was with my purchase, I emailed Jujuba software to ask for help with their software because it just isnt right that the things I enter don't save. They never got back to me.

I ordered this for my kindle paperwhite, and even though it was offered for this model, it wouldn't open no matter what I tried. I am very disappointed.

1.0 out of 5 stars Waste of money
I like the built in calendar instead of this one.It slows down my Kindle more so than anything. It was wasted money in my book. The alarms never worked on it either.
