If you've even used a large California Duster on the outside of your car, then you know what to expect. This is best used for the inside a car or the house due to it's small size (about the same surface area as a clothes iron). When new it may leave a waxy residue and some lint. That's normal. Just "season" it with a few dustings, and both things will go away. These things work better the dirtier they get. So don't wash it - that will actually ruin its effectiveness. Just be sure to shake it out before and after each use. That's al the maintenance these things every require.

A note of caution - some of these dusters sold online from unknown vendors can be fakes. They may look similar, but are cheep knock-offs of The Original California Duster than may not work as well. So be careful with what you're buying and from whom. I can certify that this item purchased from Amazon was the real thing that came with a storage case and instructions as it's supposed to. You can always trust Amazon. Unlike a Swiffer refill that loses effectiveness when not new and must be replaced, this will not simply push around dust. It'll collect everything and gets better the dirtier it gets. Pick up one for yourself.

I absolutely love these dusters! When I was in the car business, we used them all the time to clean the cars on the show floor. Now, I have this small one and the big one I use for the exterior of my new Camaro. This mini duster is perfect for the dash and other interior surfaces.

I actually have TWO of these mini dusters. The other one I use indoors. It is perfect for dusting off the HDTV, computer monitor, keyboard, bookshelves, picture frames, and pretty much anywhere else that collects dust!

As other reviewers have noted, when these are brand new they DO leave little red fibers at first. AND, they will leave a slight waxy streak on some surfaces. My solution to that is to just use them the first few times on some really dusty surfaces that won't streak. After the duster starts getting dirty, it works even better and doesn't leave streaks or specks behind. Yes - the dirtier it gets, the better is works!

To clean it, just take it outside and give it a good shake. Then it's ready for the next use. Simple as that...

For five bucks, you cannot go wrong. I have purchased both this mini one and the larger one for gifts, and the people I gave them to love them. You will too!
