Product Information. Modern Warfare 2 is a first-person tactical shooter and the sixth. entry in the popular Call of Duty series. True to its name and following. the lead of its predecessor Call of Duty: Modern Warfare it places. players in modern combat settings as opposed to the WWII environments of the. earlier Call of Duty games. This modern approach brings with it new. weapons action and options. Coupled with a variety of gameplay modes including. single player multiplayer and the co-op Special Ops Mode it is destined to be. one of the most popular games of 2009 and a worthy addition to the Call of. Duty series.. The storyline of Modern Warfare 2 picks up where the events of Call. of Duty 4: Modern Warfare left off. The ultranationalist Russian leader. Zakhaev has been eliminated but it seems that his lieutenant Vladimir Makarov. is an even bigger danger. Having made a successful play for power Intel. indicates that he is extending the reach of his influence well beyond the. borders of Mother Russia causing a stir in the international community and. prompting the involvement of Task Force 141. Task Force 141 is an elite. multinational unit made up of Navy Seals Delta Force operatives British SAS. and CIA. In the single player campaign you are Sergeant Gary Roach. Sanderson with the hero of Call of Duty 4 Soap MacTavish. promoted to Captain making an appearance as an NPC (non-player character) and. your commanding officer. The elimination of Makarov and his underlings at any. cost is your number one priority regardless where the fight occurs.. The latest release in arguably the most successful tactical first-person. shooter franchise of all-time gameplay in Modern Warfare 2 follows the. same winning and time-tested structure of earlier games in the series. In the. single player campaign players are aided by AI squad members as they take on a. series of missions aimed at eliminating Ultranationalist forces. Each mission is. built around a particular objective wit

I have watched gameplays and am considering getting Modern Warfare, Black Ops, and World at War.
With Modern Warfare 2, I don't feel it is the best but not the worst. I will rate pretty much most of the factors of the game you should consider.
The overall gameplay was very smooth and fulid, with only a few little flaws. there was some glitches but none of them really bothered me. With difficulty, I thought the game's difficulty accelerated too fast. *Spoilers Ahead* The first "real" mission where you clear the town was extremely easy, even on veteran. The Cliffhanger mission was pretty easy, except for the snowmobile part, and didn't try it on veteran. Then the airport mission was again pretty easy, but the first favela mission was outrageous and drove me nuts. You basically had to move uphill through a favela(slum-type neighborhood in Brazil, or a shanty-town) filled with militia type people, and the two SAS operatives with you are characters that can die. On veteran I can only imagine the difficulty is ridiculous. The rest of the campaign was pretty easy, with the exception of Loose Ends and the airplane graveyard. The special ops section is fairly easy through charlie, which is what I have unlocked. The multiplayer gameplay is fairly smooth, except when there is lag.
The graphics are very good, I think they are still fairly top notch today, but of course there are games with extremely good graphics. The people and animals are the only things that could have used improvement.
There are spoilers in this section also. The story doesn't really directly continue with Modern Warfare 1. A lot of time has passed, Soap is now a captain, and Price is missing. First you infiltrate an air base with Soap, then you start hunting Makarov after the terror attack at Zahkaev Airport. You also play as a U.S. Army Ranger. First you are in Afghanistan, but then you fight the Russians in the U.S. after they invade because the airport. As most people already know, Ghost, Roach, and Sheperd die, Makarov isn't caught, and the Russians are still in the U.S. I thought that Price, Soap, and the SAS characters just going after Sheperd was the only real off-putting plot turn. It made no sense to me, in military terms.
The multiplayer is very cool and good, I'm not sure how much better than Call of Duty 4's experience it is though. The main complaint I have is the lag and modding. I'm not too sure how lag compensation works, I know its because of the company's cheap servers, but I think it gives everyone with a good connection a little lag when there is a person with a bad connection. But the modding. There is aimbot, stat mods, and invincibility mods. I have played in lobbys with aimbot and invincibility. They are a pain. But my friend joined a lobby where he was rank 17, but right when he joined he became rank 70, but not prestige, and he also unlocked all weapons, equipment, and perks.
Overall, this is a very good game, but it does have noticable flaws.
Plenty of Action
AI's responde to your actions, and the difficulty's work very well.
New Experiences (riding snowmobiles, slaughtering an air port, climbing a mountain etc.)
Rewarding - when you finish this game you will feel accomplished, and you will have fun the entire way through.
Replayability - I've played through the campaign at least 3 times to either beat it on a harder difficulty or get a certain achievement. Each time was very fun.
Large Selection of Guns
Many Maps to play on
Killsteaks add an entirely new fun rewarding factor to the game
New Perks which allow for many new ways to play the game
6FPS gameplay with little lag (with a good host)
The biggest complaint is that explosives are overpowered. Noob Tubes (grenade launchers), RPG's, and Semtex's combined with Danger Close Perk, and Scavanger allow players to constantly shoot explosives across the map and kill you instantly.
Another complaint is that killstreaks are a bit too easy to get, and they are too powerful. When you get 5kills you call in a predator missile which instantly bumps you up to a harrier, and that harrier can get you a chopper gunner which means the other team is just getting spawn killed. This is fun for an experienced player, but for someone on the other team it's a living nightmare!
A must have for any FPS fan, and even if you dislike first person shooters you should give this game a shot. Will always be one of my all time favorites.
