Allie Benson is so tired of being under the microscope of Daddy and his goons. Being the only child to a Senator cane be stifling. Taking time to go to Bogota as a foreign exchange student is to open new doors. Not taking the dangers of the culture in Columbia will be her downfall. Kidnapped, beaten, drugged, and facing rape and torture becomes a living nightmare.
The plot will have Zack on a mission with their crew when his helicopter is shot down, and he has to take off to a rendezvous location on foot. Seeing a caravan of SUVs stop and hearing an American woman in danger changes the direction of his mission. The story becomes life and death as Zack will locate the building they are holding Allie and he has to go rogue to rescue her. “Handsome hero saves damsel in distress. That was only supposed to happen in romance novels, not in real life.”
The story doesn’t end after the hero rescues the girl. It is an emotional time for both of them not knowing how the other one is doing. What Daddy thought was best, just spins into a destructive nightmare for Allie. He realized it would take Zack to once again, reach other and save his little girl.
I really liked both of the characters in this story. Allie was a bit of a mess, but given the treatment from her father it makes sense. Zach was a hot, dominant male, but with an inability to commit. Although I wouldn't necessarily describe Allie's father as likeable, his character was very well written, and worked really well with the story. They all came together to make a very enjoyable story.
