Product Description

For the first time ever, the Gravity Core lets you adjust unwanted spin independently of launch angle, so you get completely optimized ball flights and longer distance. You want an extreme low spin driver? You can have it. Or a more total performance, mid-low spin driver? Yep, absolutely. Its not magic; its the Gravity Core in action.A revolutionary new face design its larger, and more robust than ever to increase ball speeds across the face. Expect longer drives, more consistently. Heres the quick 3-step process. Step 1: Increase or decrease loft in 1 increments (up to +2 or down -1) to optimize launch angle and spin. Step 2: Adjust Draw or Neutral bias to optimize shot shape. Step 3: Hit absolute bombs off the tee, maximizing distance with more accuracy. Players really seem to like step 3.Its a high strength, lightweight crown that saves crucial weight. And heres what we get by saving that weight: Adjustable Perimeter Weighting, a deeper CG for more forgiveness, and low spin with a lighter, more preferred swing weight. Thats why when you add four independent forms of adjustability to a driver for the first time ever, youve got to have Forged Composite.

Have played about 20 or so rounds with the Big Bertha which replaced my older Tour Edge Exotics CGB3. The weighted gravity core was in the up position when I first played the club. Didn't feel or sound right so I flipped it to get a lower center of gravity and ball flight. Ba Ba Boooooey! This club hammers the ball and I'm getting about 12-15 yards over the Tour Edge. The best part is not the distance, it's how forgiving the club is on misfits. I would conservatively say I drive it 225-250 maybe up to 270 if I really make a good swing and hit the sweet spot well. When I swing bad there is some vibration and it dosent feel good but I go down the fairway and am amazed I'm still in play and 220 or so. I am hitting the stiff shaft which for my age 66, might be to stiff, but i am very pleased. I have not adjusted the perimeter weights yet but I am going to play with the weighting when the weather warms up some. I paid a premium for this club and I love it. I think if you try it you'll like it. Hits it a ton, very forgiving, lots of adjustability all bundled in a great looking high quality design.

The Alpha has lived up to the marketing hype and is good as ANY driver on the market and better than most. I keep the weight down and find it easy to get the ball in the air and if I tee the ball down can keep in low in the wind. The stock Mitsubshi staft is better than the average off the shelf and there was only a slight improvement in drives by changing to my best driver shaft. Adjustment available to get it dialed in for you. I keep the cylinder weight down to get a higher launch and get over some trees on my local course. Just a solid awesome driver!

I am absolutely amazed at my drives now. For more years than I care to mention, I have been an avid slicer!! After a few adjustments, I was hitting consistent 250-275 yard drives with a slight fade. Well worth the price!!!

This might be my first negative review. I bought this because it is suppose to take spin off drives. After trying every configuration, I still can't hit it for any distance. I went back to my TaylorMade R1 and it is easily 25 yards longer and much easier to hit.

This replaced my old FT5. At some point the weight fell out of the bottom of the FT. I absolutely loved the FT and wanted to stick with a Callaway driver. Did some research including reading Amazon reviews and the Alpha made it to Golf Digest's gold list. I'm glad I got this driver. Love being able to adjust loft and set it up the face for fade or draw bias very quickly and easily with the included wrench.

I replaced a Taylor made SLDR with this club. No comparison! This club really performs and the adjustable weights really make a difference. I feel like I gained a few yards but definitely picked up accuracy.

I bought this on an impulse Lightening Deal that was just too darn good to pass up. I was already playing the Big Bertha of the same line, (the non-Alpha BB). I got the 10.5 and increased the loft by 2*, and set it to Draw. I left the core down to offset the increased loft. Took less than 10 balls at the range to get used to it. Maybe because it is similar to the other BB I had been playing for the last 3-4 months, (which I also really like.) I like smaller toe-to-heal size on the Alpha better. It is higher in the middle (taller) then the regular BB, which I also like since I tend to hit the ball higher on the club face. The shaft looks identical, but the difference is the Alpha is a little heavier, and it is called the ZT vs. the Z. I have them both in regular, so I don't really notice a huge difference. I've played about 4 rounds with the Alpha so far. Overall, I can't say I hit it much, if any longer than the BB. They are both really, really, nice clubs. After playing TM and most recently Cobra, I am happy to be back to Callaway. It's been since the Diablo about 10 drivers ago since I played Callaway. The price I got on the lightening deal made the purchase a no-brainer. My buddy already purchased my BB, so it made it all that much better a deal. But all things considering, I would not consider it a huge difference to warrant the original $100 price difference. But with 4 days of golf coming up this weekend, I might change my mind. If I do, I'll post again. BTW, it was such a great buy, I bought another for my buddy. He will play with it on Friday for the first time. I hope he likes it as much as I do.

The club was in good condition for being used. Although...I thought it would come with a neutral setup or include other weights to adjust the clubs setup. Mine came with a 1&7 weights installed and no extras to make adjustments. Disappointed!
