by Brandy L Rivers
First and foremost, I love the continuity that series offers. Every time I pick up a book by Brandy L Rivers , I’m guaranteed it's going to be one emotional ride. Of course Callback is just what I expected and I enjoyed every word! I absolutely enjoy Brandy l Rivers paranormal books and this is the first contemporary book of
her's that I have read. Wowza! Wowza! I enjoyed this so much At this point, I feel like you can you pretty much cue my reaction upon finishing a book by Brandy l Rivers. I have to be honest, the book made me cry a time or two. There are some very emotional scenes in this story. This book is incredibly hot! Leona and Luke together are one of the hottest couples, I even enjoy how they snuggle. There is nothing that anyone can predict about this story. Here’s what you can count on: Luke is going to be charming and lovable. He will be sexy, and definitely dreamy. Leona will be reluctant and passionate. She will become bold and witty with Luke. You can expect that when they come together with their fire it's as you can anticipate lots and lots of passion. Plus you as a reader will be both swooning and crying. While, clearly my favorite part of the story is Leona and Luke chemistry, I could go on and on about their chemistry, I enjoyed Luke for his character it's quirky, sweet kind plus they are definitely opposite of each other in just about every way. There is quite few side characters that are truly exceptional, yet Leona friend stands out the most for me. I enjoyed Leona and Luke as a couple they are such perfection even with their flaws. I don’t think I’ll ever get enough of the glimpses into their relationship. I couldn't put my tablet down until I finished, but
now that I'm done you know what the worst part is? I read this book like I was starving and this is my last time I'll get to eat. But what I wanted to do was savored this book, but I can say this book had me so emotionally involved, l haven't ever experienced what Leona did but it felt real and I give my hat to Brandy L Rivers,Leona and Luke story is a great read. I haven't read any of her other Contemporary books but I intend too then I’m looking forward to what’s coming, even though I know there’s no predicting anything!
Leona is coming from a bad divorce, where husband cheated and he found she was boring. Or so he says. She is an author and just received word that someone wants to buy the writes to make it a movie. She is kind of leary because she doesn't want it to change. Leona really doesn’t want to be with Luke she thinks he is following her for the simple fact she can put in a good word for him. His fame makes her want to run as well as the age difference.
Luke wants to be the actor in Leona's book to be on the big screen. When he sees her and not only does he want that but he wants her. He is totally smitten right off the bat. He is actually a really great guy, down to earth and doesn't let his fame go to his head. There are times in the beginning that Luke some bad choices that, may or may not come back to bite him.
I liked most of the secondary people that are their friends, especially Ryan and Raven. I would love to read about both of them. Sometimes I wanted to throttle his friend Manny and yell wake the hell up. He was blind and oblivious. Then with as bad as a time her ex-husband texts and calls her I had expected a bit more on that front. Though the way it was worked. Maybe I wanted more because the more drama the better the draw out and angst.
What was hard was the repetition of the age difference. It was overly expressed other than that it was a good book and I look forward to more in this new series. It was a great way to start off.
