The description of the product is completely misleading. It is definitely not Callebaut chocolate as one might think considering it comes up as the first thing in the search if you’re looking for Callebaut. Amazon customer service insists the manufacturer is Cocoa Barry yet upon further inspection of the confusing packaging it is made by Pure Food by Estee. Just save yourself the headache of being stuck with a nonreturnable item. Customer service will be no help and insist it’s fine for consumers to receive an item that is different from what was described in the listing.

These chocolate chips had a white powdery coating on them when I opened them. They tasted very dry and harder than other chocolate chips; they were terrible. When I went to see about returning them, I realized they are not returnable. I then went to re-read the description and felt it was very misleading. It was the first product that came up when I typed Callebaut chocolate in the search bar and it states that it is in fact 100% Callebaut chocolate. "World Famous" is also on the front of the packaging. When looking closer, no where on the bag does it state a name of a company to let you know it is not actual Callebaut Chocolate but a Kosher company using the Callebaut Chocolate to make kosher, vegan chocolate. Maybe it's great kosher vegan chocolate but thats definitely not what I thought I was buying.

Don't order in warmer weather!!!

I ordered these chocolate chips, hopeful that I might have found an easy alternative to going to the store when I ran out of chips. What came in were three bags of solid chocolate bricks. Almost. There were a few loose chips here and there but not many. I was making banana bread and had to chip off chunks of chocolate small enough to add to the mix. Doable for sure, but inconvenient. Yes, it's September in Colorado and it's warm. I had assumed the chips would be shipped either with a cool pack (like some more expensive protein bars I had ordered came in) or at least in a bubble wrap to insulate them somewhat. But they were just shipped in one of the mannila envelopes a lot of Amazon packages come in. So....I give them two stars because it is good chocolate but I'll never order them online again. Just go to the store for your chocolate chips in warmer weather, or be prepared to chisel away at chocolate bricks!

My chocolate chips were dry, hard, and powdery. The only way I have been able to use them satisfactorily so far is melting them in a mix of cream and milk for French hot chocolate. The flavor is good, but not premium. Not sure if someone was pawning off stale chips on me or if they hadn't been temperature controlled. I would rather eat the cheap Nestle stuff over this -- at least those are creamy, and don't taste like powder. For the past couple of years I have exclusively used Callebaut chocolate for baking, and these were not up to standard. I will go back to the large 5 lb bag of Belgian Callebaut callets that I normally buy on Amazon. Pricey, but outstanding and worth every penny.

These are not fresh. They are dry, not creamy, and a light brown color, which is a sign of oldness. I would not buy them again. Not sure if fault lies with seller or maker.
