"Calling All Hearts" is R&B singer Keyshia Cole's fourth CD, and the album opens with the Nicki Minaj collaboration "I Ain't Thru", an upbeat hater brush-off. The midtempo guitar-peppered "Long Way Down" follows. Other songs keeping the tempo up are the Faith Evans duet "If I Fall In Love Again", the smooth piano-sprinkled "Take Me Away", and the dark synth-driven "Last Train" with Timbaland.

"Tired Of Doing Me" is an absolutely beautiful ballad and a duet with Tank, with Tank's and Cole's vocals perfectly complimenting each other. "So Impossible" is a gorgeous piano/string swathed ballad, while Cole goes from soft to belting on the acoustic "Sometimes". "What You Do To Me" is a retro Soul ballad. "Thank You" finds her thanking and praising God and features her adopted mother Dr Yvonne Cole, and closing is the soaring ballad "Better Me".

From the lyrics, one can discern that Cole is at a happy place in her life (She became a mother this year and also got engaged). Most of the anger and pain from her first album ("Changed My Mind", "Should Have Cheated") is gone and some will miss that, but still, this is touching and beautiful.

This young lady is clearly in love and it fits her!!! I like this album and agree that is a combination of her previous efforts with obvious growth. I love the fact that she takes risks with her music and gives her fans a variety of styles, tones, beats....etc. Keyshia may not be the best singer but she sings with such passion and YOU believe her!

My girl Keyshia Cole!! I am so happy to see that she did not forget her fans! I must say...I expected something a little dull and boring from Keyshia now that she is settling down and is a mother; I felt like Keyshia wouldnt have that "Keyshia heat" that we have grown so accustomed to. Man was I wrong! "Calling All Hearts" actually is one of my favorite albums that Keyshia has released! I am so happy that she has finally fell in love with someone who reciprocates those feelings..and she expresses that in her album. There are some more fast-paced songs that I can imagine hearing in a nightclub, however, she also was sure to add in the heart-felt, intimate lyrics as well! My favorite tracks on the album are:

-Long Way Down (My absolute favorite)
-So Impossible
-Take Me Away
-What You Do To Me
-I Aint Through
-Tired Of Doing Me
-Last Hangover

I am very impressed with Keyshia and her career. I can only hope that this beautiful, talented, humble, and classy black woman stays humble and down-to-earth just as she has done thus far in her career! Wonderful job Keyshia! You have yet to disappoint me! I cannot wait to see what projects you endure in your future as a musician!

Keyshia has a pretty good CD on her hands. If you like Keyshia Cole, then you'll definitely like this CD, if you're a a fair-weathered fan, you'll find a few hits on here. Other than that, I don't think this CD will make anyone a diehard Keyshia Cole fan, but it also won't turn any of her fans off.

I like this c.d a lot. I am a person who loves real vocal ability, and passion in the music. Keyshia doesn't dissapoint with the passion, you feel every lyric she sings. She sounds very mature with this outing, and very passionate about the lyrics. I remember on her reality show when Diddy told her to sing falsetto, and she replied "I don't do that". Well it looks like she may have taken a few lessons, and had some vocal training, because she sounds good here. Her voice isn't perfect, but it doesn't have to be, because she is who she is, and people feel the realness from her. The only song I skip is I ain't thru, because in my opinion it isn't that great of a song, and really uneccesary being that she really has nothing to prove. It seems like the addition of Nicki Minaj, was the trendy thing to do, and with her subliminal jabs at lil kim, it just seems very immature. My favorites would be "long way down" (so pretty), "so impossible", sometimes (very mature, humbling, introspective)"what you do to me" (Keyshia's take on a sexy song, decent job, "two sides to every story" (very real)"where would we be" (another real, mature song, with a throwback feel), "thank you" is the standout song on the c.d to me, very inspirational, and love the addition of Yvonne Cole. "Better me, is a a classic Diane Warren song, and Keyshia does a nice job on it, you really feel like she wants to be better. Overall I really like the c.d. Good job Keyshia!

AMAZING!

Not 1 track skipped.

If you loved all 3 of her previous albums, you will LOVE this one!

It's a mix of all 3.

Take Me Away, Last Hangover, Long Way Down, So Impossible, If I Fall In Love Again, stand out tracks, but the whole album is amazing!

A must have!

Keyshia Cole hasn't let me down! I was kind of hesitant to buy because it seems like all the new music released nowadays is garbage! I love this album definitely worth listening to from beginning to end! Go Keyshia Cole Do the damn thang!

After Keyshia Cole's last lackluster effort, she comes back in a big way with Calling All Hearts. It's also sort of surprising as well because she just sort of came back. Usually it's a big deal when an artist with her talent and pedigree comes back after a hiatus that involved getting married and having a baby. That really wasn't the case here. She released the I Aint Thru single with Nicki Minaj which got lukewarm response (in this case it actually was a lukewarm song and probably the worst on the album). Usually albums are pushed back due to that kind of response from a first single but here we are with Keyshia Cole's 4th studio album.

Even without hype, high charting singles, gaudy guest features, or a strong marketing and promotion campaign, Keyshia Cole sold a highly respectable amount of records especially in this day and age. That's a testament to actually having enough talent to sustain a loyal fanbase as well as delivering a great product.

Calling All Hearts ranks right up there with her first two albums in terms of songwriting and overall cohesive vibe. Keyshia Cole's voice sounds better than ever and I feel like they were sung with *slightly* more emotion than her previous albums. This is also true R&B/Soul sound which means no european techno garbage trying to crossover. This is an album with a whole lotta sangin'. Other than her lead single (which sounds painfully out of place), the album skates along at a smooth pace with guest features from Tank and Faith Evans. There's many a great song including So Impossible, Thank You, Tired of Doing Me, Better Me, What You Do To Me, and Take Me Away.

Calling All Hearts ranks right up there with The Way It Is and Just Like You and is one of the superb efforts of the year in a year that was stacked with stellar performances and projects. Fans of Keyshia Cole and fans of R&B music will no doubt appreciate this cd. 5 stars.
