And boy am I glad I did.
From a child born from an abuse of power to learning to love again, this book hit many of the major points!
Not to mention a bit of justifiable homicide, a mother's resentment, successes and pressures of organized crime, graphic dynamics of Southern life, love turned to hate, and a journey to finally live the legitimate life is woven together into a heartwrenching, eye opening, blood boiling tapestry.
The only regret I have is being forced to deal with the shock that overtook me when I finish with the cliff hanger.
The anticipation for the sequel is really doing a number on me.
I truly hope Sheryl Grace over-delivers in her next novel as she clearly did with "He Calls Her Blue."
The Arthur and did a phenomenal job on bringing the characters to life. I can't wait for part two!
Ruby was a pathetic Mother and she got on my nerves. Such a selfish individual! I felt sorry for Indigo as she longed for her Mother's affection, but Ruby refused to give it to her because Indigo was a constant reminder of how she was conceived. So many kids go through this daily.
The ending was a cliff hanger which means another book is in the making. Can't wait cause I want to know what will happen with Indigo and if she will form a relationship with her father.
A great job for a beginner. Don't take long with the sequel.
