Easy Tips for Cooking with Stainless Steel
Enjoy great results from your stainless steel cookware by following these simple steps for no-stick cooking:
-- Take the chill off foods. Remove foods from the refrigerator 10-15 minutes before you start to cook.
-- Pre-heat over medium heat. Don't try to save time and preheat on high. It only takes a couple of minutes to preheat Calphalon cookware at the proper temperature to help prevent sticking.
-- Try the butter test. Pre-heat pan on medium, then test by rubbing a teaspoon of butter over the inside of the pan. When the butter begins to bubble briskly, it’s properly preheated. If the butter begins to brown, the heat is too high. Carefully wipe the pan with a paper towel, lower the heat, wait a minute, and try the butter test again.
-- Keep your cookware clean. Residue from previous cooking or aerosol cooking sprays is a common cause of sticking.

CON: expensive. heavy. I always feel like a thinner material would theoretically heat up faster (and be way lighter) although all these heavy, bottom layer pots claim to be fast heating. Electric burners are so slow to heat it still takes forever though.
Would love to also have a 1.5 option that is the same dimensions except shorter in height. I've gone through quite a lot of stainless steel strainer pots of similar size and cost and this is this has been the most expensive butbest so far.
When I saw this pan, I balked at the price at first, but the reviews were good. I bit, bought the pan, and I'm so glad I did! It cooks better than my old Teflon pan, and if I soak it a bit, it cleans up really easily.
Pros - cooks evenly, a little hotter than aluminum but I adjusted; very durable; lighter than cast iron; no "non-stick" surface to come off in your food.
Cons - if food sticks to the bottom, it takes a little soaking in water and dish soap, but then a light scrub with a scrubber sponge takes it off in a minute.
Now I'm looking at other sizes. I would buy this pan again.
Perfectly sized for one or two. I use it for soups and cooking ramen.
The unique standout features are the built in straining holes in two sides of the extended lid rim, extremely useful for straining pasta or noodles or boiled vegetables.
The pot also has spouts one both sides making it ambidextrous when pouring liquids.
The stainless steel seems to be of decent quality, so far I could detect no rust on any part of the pot or lid.
If I were to nit-pick, the only area of improvement is to make it river free on the inside; but it would be absurd to expect it at this price.

Your sellers need to indicate whether US measure or canadian measure. First, we do not have quarts!!!!
I have a 2 1/2 quart 2.5 litre pot. This one is 2 1/2 quart 2.3 litre. There is nothing indicating the litre measurement. Else, I would not have ordered. I will use it for something else.
Advertisers... please indicate quarts and the equivalent litre measurement. or indicate US quarts.....
The ONLY issue I have with this design are the nubs inside the pot for the handle which will no doubt accumulate debris over time. Otherwise incredible quality.
