Create all of your favorite dishes and cut out the mess with this Calphalon Contemporary nonstick sauce pot. With its hard anodized aluminum construction, it is durable and long-lasting. This pan features a long heat-resistant handle, keeping your fingers safe from the heat, as well as a glass and stainless steel lid to trap moisture and nutrients. Finished with a non-stick coating, it is easy to use and easy to clean. This pot is backed by a manufacturer's lifetime limited warranty.
Perfect for reducing sauces or cooking vegetables on the stovetop and for braising meat in the oven, this shallow, 2-1/2-quart saucepan is coated with nonstick inside to release food readily and clean easily. The nonstick is durable enough to go safely into the oven at temperatures up to 450 degrees F. Made of heavy-gauge aluminum with a matte finish, the pan conducts heat uniformly and quickly. Because the aluminum is anodized it's harder than steel and the pan won't scratch, chip, or crack. The oval, brushed stainless-steel handle stays cool on the stovetop and has a hanging hole for the pan to be stored on hook or peg. The domed glass lid collects and returns moisture to food and permits monitoring of cooking without reducing the temperature inside the pan. Calphalon Contemporary Nonstick cookware carries a lifetime warranty against defects.See all Product description

(1)Even heating -- thick and conductive metal cooks everything gently with no hotspots, no burning of delicate sauces
(2)Flared sides allow you to cook both tiny and large portions, and even to use it as a saucier for reducing thin sauces.
(3)Extremely nonstick -- eggs, caramel, even stuff burned black came off with the wipe of a sponge
(4)Durable -- both the coating and the pot itself. For 3 years I've used and abused this, and there's no warping or scratching off of the coating. Metal utensils and all.
(5)Well-designed lid -- glass so you can see in, tight sealing for cooking rice, tempered so you can do everything but hammer it and it will last, handle for when it gets hot
(6)Stain resistance -- I've cooked dozens of curries in this pot, and there's not a hint of turmeric stain
This dish has been my workhorse since January 2007, and I couldn't ask for a finer one. If they offered stainless-clad versions so I didn't feel guilty using a metal whisk, I'd replace all my other pots and pans.
Update: I now own a good set of stainless-clad pans, and this baby is still the first one I reach for. It's particularly fantastic for pasta and rice, which leave hard-to-remove starch residue on stainless, and also for macaroni and cheese, which does the same thing but with solidified cheese sauce. It now needs a little oil in the bottom if you want to cook an egg on it.
ONE caveat: it has a 7" diameter base, so it works best with a larger burner/eye. Some deep 2-3 qt pots are sized for smaller (5.5" diameter) eyes. It's conductive enough that I've used it on my 5.5" eyes without problems, but it takes longer to heat.
There's a con, though. It stained after I prepared an omelet-like thing without using too much oil (it's a non stick so I figured it wouldn't have too much problem) and I could not remove the stains. They don't bother me when cooking, they are smooth and seem to be inside the non-stick coating, but it doesn't look good and I fear it will have to be retired soon if the surface cracks or something, because of that damage...
I wouldn't recommend calphalon non-stick products for that reason. I have Teflon pans (Brand name:Tefal, they are the only ones, teflon I believe is still under patent protection and Dupont are the only guys who can sell it :( ) and have done the same dish with no effect on the pan.
Never had this problem with any of them. The first use of this pot and my girlfriend nearly scorched her hand. Only the outer half of the handle stays cool. The half closer to the pot got very hot. Quite surprised and very disappointed. Will not being dealing with Cephalon again.
