There are three things I look for in a knife: 1) Durability: I've had this knife for over a year and not one knick (trust me it gets plenty of use) it's still as it was out of the package! 2) Versatility: From breaking down cambros of mirepoix or neatly filleting fish. This knife does all that, so there's no need to carry a bulky knife kit. 3) Maintenance: A few quick sweeps of a knife steel and the edge is like new! Wash with soapy water then dry with a towel. *Japanese Steel does oxidize if not washed and dried properly!! Not a knife for the dishwasher!*
Also, it has the perfect weight to it and the fact that it looks really cool is just a bonus!
Word of advise... DO NOT PUT IN THE DISHWASHER !!!!!
