Cal grew up in a loving home, with multiple siblings. He was taught responsibility, respect, and how hard work pays off. He was tired of seeing the abuse of the law and decided to run for, and was elected Sheriff. He cares about the people in his county, and he tries to keep them safe, even the entitled college students in town that rely on their parents to get them out of trouble.
Jenny Anderson came from a home with wealth and privilege and is an only child. Anytime she messed up; she was harped about her mistakes. Her mother wants her to be in her sorority, even if it isn’t something Jenny really wants. She has never had the structure, discipline, and feeling of love in her life growing up.
The plot has Jenny getting into trouble, and Cal making a deal with her to keep her out of jail. He will become her probation officer, and she will answer to him and his rules. For the first time in her life, she will experience a spanking, rules, and guidelines, and must adhere to the rules or face a penalty. Cal is 28 years-old and extremely responsible, and Jenny is 19 years old and lacks maturity, discipline, focus, and work ethics. Can Cal help Jenny become a better college student and responsible adult? What happens as these two start developing romantic feelings for one another?
Jenny was a very interesting lead in that we see her really wondering what it is she wants out of a relationship, she is attracted to Cal and loves his attention even his discipline but also wonders why she should have to give into his rules. She is rich and knows that she can have an easier life and their is a guy at her college that in many ways represents the other way she could live her life and while we root for Cal we can see why he is appealing to her and in many ways he is not bad or wrong, he just represents another way to live her life if that is what she wants.
Cal as a dominate struggles more than most I have read in the fact that he is older then Jenny and economically out of her league. He is developing feelings for her but is constantly doubting himself and subconsciously pushing her away. While still being intently worried about her and showing he cares in many different ways from spankings to cooking for her. He helps her grow up and be more mature in her own thinking even when he is foolish in his own feelings for her.
The biggest surprise was at the end where it says there is more to come which left me curious, we could have ended right there but the idea that there is more PK Corey wants to tell I have faith she will make it worth while. Highly recommend! I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
