Super easy to use... Pair it in seconds... that's it.

I can't believe how easy this product is. All you need to do is pair it with your device and it works. It snaps the shutter in stills, or starts and stops the camera in video mode.

I wondered how they managed to do this without any special Apps, so I tried pushing the button when it wasn't in camera mode and discovered that it's actually seen as a virtual keyboard control that has only one button, which triggers the volume button. As you know, most smartphones use the volume as a shutter so it simply triggers the volume when you hit it... which triggers the shutter in camera Apps.

This makes shooting selfies so much easier.

Set up my own photo booth at a wedding reception, and the guests had a ball snapping the picture as they viewed it on the iPad2. I used a head on my tripod to grip the iPad, linked the iPad to this little gadget, and put up a sign with instructions and arranged some crazy props to encourage people to get goofy. It worked perfectly, and the remote did not "walk away" during the afternoon. Highly recommend this! ... (Just wish my big Canon 40D had bluetooth capability so I could use this with that camera!)

This little bluetooth mobile camera shutter button is the ONLY one I have ever found that works with your phone for apps like Snapchat, VINE or Instagram to allow you to take video when the app requires you to hold down the camera button on your phones screen. Any other bluetooth shutter you buy only allows you to take still photos natively within those apps. So basically...the CamKix Wireless Bluetooth Camera Shutter Remote Control is the THE BEST mobile photography accessory on the market & it COSTS $6.99...I bought 10 because it's that great a deal & I highly recommend you do the same.

This thing worked initially, but it stopped.working within a couple of months. First it would not keep.the sync with my phone. Then when I tried changing the battery, it stopped working altogether! You can tell the battery contacts were very cheaply assembled. The positive contact fell inside the unit and no longer touches the battery. I guess I got what I paid for. :(

Great remote smartphone camera trigger

I needed a way to remotely trigger the camera on my smart phone to take group pictures during family gatherings. After searching the internet I narrowed it down to this item. I received the item very quickly (from Amazon) and it arrived in perfect condition. The remote is very well made, has a very solid feel to it, not something that would break if you dropped it. The included lanyard is a nice plus. I have an Apple iPhone and the remote connected with no issues (via Bluetooth). When my phone was in camera mode the remote worked perfectly. There is a small on/off switch on the side and two buttons on the face (one for IOS phones and one for Android phones).

There is nothing more convenient for a parent than having a camera and a telephone at hand at all times. Growing up, I remember my mother running to her room to grab her camera whenever we did something cute or memorable. Of course, she often missed the moment. All I have to do is reach into my purse or my pocket for my cell phone. I recently purchased a tripod for my cell phone camera to allow me to get even better, clearer shots. And then I added something my mother could never have imagined back in the 70’s when I was a kid. I bought the CamKix Bluetooth Camera Shutter Remote Control with Wrist Strap for Smartphones. Now I can be in pictures with my kids! Video too!

WHAT IS IN THE BOX: One approximately 2” by 1¼” light-weight plastic remote with two buttons plus a woven wrist strap. The larger button operates my iPhone 5 camera. There is a tiny on/off switch on the side. It requires a 3 volt disc battery to operate which is included.

WHAT I LIKE: I can set up my phone camera to either take pictures or video and start (and stop for video) it from across the room.

No one has to be left out of family (or friends) pictures. I can take pictures at a distance farther than even a selfie stick allows.

I can set up the camera and wait until the kids forget it is there. The remote allows me to get better candid video and pictures.

The remote is small and lightweight and easy to carry with me.

The remote interacts simply and without issue with my cell phone camera.

IF my kids leave their Bluetooth on and are using their cell phone cameras, I can mess with them by operating their cameras remotely. For this reason they will NOT be getting one of these.

WHAT I DON’T LIKE: The remote feels pretty unsubstantial. (It feels hollow.) I think it might crack or break without much clumsiness on my part.

PICTURES: I am including pictures of the remote with the strap and with the battery case removed.

I purchased CamKix Bluetooth Camera Shutter Remote Control with Wrist Strap for Smartphones at FULL PRICE. I think it is a fantastic device and would definitely recommend it.

January, 2017 Bought brand new....So far, love it. A real breeze to set up and seems to work immediately, simply and seamlessly with my Samsung Galaxy. Only concern is durability of construction (it's lightweight) but this is something you keep packed away with your tripod, ram mounts, cam equip stuff etc. so it shouldn't get banged around on a car key fob everyday (which it's not really built for). Haven't field tested for distance but unless you hear back from me, it's five stars all the way.
UPDATE 7/9/2018 UNIT KAPUT
Completely stopped working. Only really used one time in early 2017 right after purchase for a special event (photo booth at festival). A year later (July 2018) pulled it our for another event. Nothing, no indicator light. Replaced batteries (tried a few brand new). Still nothing. Sad to say, had to reduce from 5 stars to just one.
