About the Author

Larry Edsall was snatched away from a career as a daily newspaper sports editor to become motorsports editor at AutoWeek magazine. Before long, he was automotive industry news and motorsports editor, and for most of his 12 years served as the magazine's managing editor. While at AutoWeek, he drove nearly half a million miles evaluating vehicles on four continents. He left Detroit for Phoenix late in 1999 to help modernize one automotive website, then launched another, iZoom.com. He also writes as a freelance contributor to several automotive and lifestyle publications.

This book is 95% about the design, development, prototypes and finally production of the new 2010 5th generation Camaro. This book would be an excellent accessory to all 5th gen vehicles and their owners. The book gives a concise history of the birth, evolution and death of Camaro gens. 1-4, in about 10 pages. It then picks up with the rebirth of the new Camaro and finishes with the production models and speculates into the future. The author must have worked very close with GM to write this book because it appears he had unprecedented access to the designers and executives. The book also gives a lot of insite into the people, and process of the automobile industry. A surprise was the international contributions of GM worldwide to produce the new American muscle car. There is a lot of GM propoganda, but the author loves the subject which certainly provided motivation for a great book. The book is written by a guy who loves Camaros and for the guy who owns and loves Camaros. Awesome pictures and illustrations abound.This is the book for the 5th gen Camaro owner, and enthusiast.
