How it Works
To use your Camco TastePURE Heated Drinking Water Hose, plug the 6-foot power cord into a power Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) receptacle or properly grounded outlet that is protected by a GFCI. Allow 15 minutes for hose to pre-heat before attempting to uncoil. Once hose has completed the 15 minute pre-heat and while remaining plugged into the power receptacle, carefully unwind and extend hose to its fully stretched out, extended length. Allow hose to continue to heat in its extended state for 30 minutes. This procedure will allow the internal heating cable to relax back to its natural state and allows the hose the lie flat. Once the hose relaxes into a flat, straight condition, you may proceed to the next step. Please note that this process can take up to one hour to complete. Once the hose has pre-heated and is lying flat, disconnect power cord from power supply, then connect hose to water source and to RV, mobile home or boat. Turn on the water supply and check for leaks. Once all leaks have been fixed, reconnect power cord to the power supply.

For the amount of money this hose cost, this should NOT BE HAPPENING!!!!
I wanted this product to be all it was described so bad. I REALLY liked the idea of an "All-in-One" heated hose and that it would not be so bulky and "make shift" looking at my camp site.
I will not be trying the "All-in -One" idea again. I will go back to a good quality hose, a heat tape, and foam pipe insulation.
Though the hose has not "Failed Technically" yet, the owner of the campground I am at has asked me not to use it because he is afraid it will burst and water will run everywhere and possibly cause a hazard. So, I must remove it.
I would not recommend this product to anyone, sorry, but it's too much money to take the chance that you "might get a good one"
I bought this because I live full time in my RV. In the past, I've mummified a short hose with heat tape and pipe insulation, and hoped for the best. It was marginally effective. This year I decided to spring for a high-priced, heated hose, thinking I might fare better.
The hose looks great, especially compared to the alternative (which usually ends up with splits in the insulation and duct tape flapping in the breeze). It's lighter weight than I expected, which is also a plus. The heating element seems to work well. That's the good news.
The bad news is: it leaks at both ends, right from the start. It seems to be leaking at the joints below the threaded faucet connections. The connections themselves are fine. That means ice will build up during extremely cold weather leading to a frozen waterfall and slip-hazard.
It also comes with a whopping 3 feet of electrical cord. Instructions say not to use an extension cord. Good luck with that. I know of few places where that setup will work without an extension cord. It must have been designed by someone who never stayed at an RV park or state park campground.
