A note about the hose fittings, the end with the hex shaped fitting goes on the source and the fitting that is smooth goes on the shower head end. It can be installed the opposite way but if you put the hex fitting on the shower head it will not fit the supplies hanger. So install it right and all will be good.
The shower head performed well however the different shower head setting don’t really work well unless you have good water pressure. As most RV owners know that water pressure in campgrounds vary a lot. Even at lower pressures we have enjoyed this shower head and consider it an improvement over the old one.
the water may come out a little hot or cold on the first second or so when turned back on but then adjusts back to exactly where you had it. So you just have to make sure to point it away for about a second to let it readjust before starting again.
Also, I am using this in a regular shower. Don't order the hose Amazon shows with it unless you are putting it in an RV. It won't work on regular pipes.
The water was cut off and when the small amount of water that remained in the head past the cutoff switch drained and dripped out, there was no more water flow. NONE. No steady stream or drip as others have reported in their reviews. Before we bought it we read the reviews and we were a little bit concerned after reading of failed switches and heads falling apart but our shower head is perfect. The switch continues to work as described.
We bought it to use in our RV which has a 10 gallon water heater. We wanted a shower head that would shut off so we didn't have to use the shower faucet which in our case is a large single almost baseball sized knob that works much like a joystick and is not easy to adjust. With this new shower head we can easily turn the shower off and on at the head while pretty much not getting any change in water temperature nor wasting any hot water to readjust the temp which we had to do if the water was turned off using the main control.
A bonus is either my wife or myself can leave the water turned off at the shower head so whoever showers next can simply turn it back on with the shower head switch when they shower. Of course this means within 5 minutes or so, not waiting a lengthy time between showers.
So far so good, although it’s only been in use for a month we are pleased with it. It’s warranted for a year and if it fails after that we would buy it again. If it fails in less than a year we will contact the company for a replacement. We were able to buy it for a little over $10 before tax so it was a really good deal for the convenience it offers us.
I won't even compare to the OEM "so-called" shower heads that campers come with. Rather, I like some jumped on the Oxygenics bandwagon. It was a great shower head with one deal-breaking expection...WTF is with the trickle which NO MATTER what is freezing arse cold? Then when you turned it back on it was ICE COLD for 5-10secs, enough for even the manliest of men go "turtle" for a second. It was intolerable. My son didn't want to even get in with that shower head which was 4x the cost of this.
Purchased the Camco, couldn't be happier. Water on-off is easy to use with soapy hands, and is vertical so it doesn't move the shower head from where you had it like the horizontal switch on the Oxygenics. NO TRICKLE, I mean NONE. You turn it off, the water turns off...DUH. You turn it back on, and the water is close to the temp you turned it off with...DUH.
