Nowadays, RVs have all kinds of sophisticated electronics onboard. Microwaves, televisions, refrigerators, cell phones and computers all run off of your RVs power source, and all are at risk of high or low voltage and a power surge or spike. Repairing and replacing RV appliances and accessories can be costly, especially if they all become affected at once. Protect your RV and appliances from high or low voltage levels and surges with Camco’s PowerGrip Voltage Protector and Circuit Analyzer. The Camco PowerGrip Voltage Protector and Circuit Analyzer protects from high voltage, surges such as lightening and low voltage which can be equally harmful.
How it Works
The Voltage Protector helps protect your RV from damaging high or low voltage levels and power spikes and surges. Camco's PowerGrip Voltage Protector and Circuit Analyzer monitors incoming power and automatically disconnects when dangerous voltage levels are detected, then automatically reconnects once voltage levels stabilize (between 102-132 VAC). Reconnect Delay protects sensitive equipment, such as AC units, by not rapidly cycling power. Water resistant unit incorporates integrated multilevel surge protection and diagnostic lights for visual indication of faults. Available in 30 and 50 AMP.
- LED lights to indicate over/under voltage and reverse polarity, open neutral or no power
- Automatically disconnects from dangerous power levels and reconnects when power stabilizes
- Disconnects power after 8-10 seconds of voltage below 102 VAC or above 132 VAC (time delay for reset is 2 minutes 20 seconds)
- 30 Amp Voltage Protector has a maximum surge suppression of 2,450 joules
- PowerGrip handles
- Surge protection
- Water resistant

I originally gave this product 3-Stars. After using it on three RV Journeys I have lowered my opinion of this product. The Power Defender is not rain resistance. A couple of thundershowers caused water to enter the component. A small amount of rain residue in the component caused the electrical wiring to short out. It will give false indications of voltage problems and chatter. Thus making the product worthless. At home I unsealed the device to determine the problem and find a solution. Two weeks after the thunder storm, I found corrosion and a thin covering of water on most electrical surfaces. Camco uses silicon to seal the back cover. Yet, they missed a good portion of the upper part of the device. I'm not going to sink any more money into these expensive voltage protectors. I'll try this faulty one out again and disconnect it during rain periods. Provided it works after drying it out in the sun. The bottom line, don't buy this product unless the price drops by $100.
Originally, I gave this product three stars. I have been out three times on an RV Journey with the Camco Power Defender. On the most recent trip I discovered this product is not rain resistance. Water was able to penetrate into the component and short-out the electrical wiring. Apparently just a small amount of water will cause the defender to misread the voltage and indicate a non-existing problem.
