5.0 out of 5 stars Great plug! I love the large handle to securely ...
By MRCHIRO on November 27, 2015
Great plug! I love the large handle to securely insert and remove the plug safely. I needed 50ft 6/3 cabling but I didn't want to spend $200 on the pre-made cable found here on amazon. I spent $137 for the wire else where plus what I already had and came up with what you see. They are double male ends for direct connection to my house/shop/office electric panel. Keep in mind this was replacing 460R9W ($200 receptacles) and I just can't justify spending $145 for each receptacle that I wanted installed to use with my generator in case I need it. I purchased a few Leviton 279 50 Amp to install @ each location to backfeed the premises. Thanks again amazon for offering a wonderful and well built product at a reasonable price!

5.0 out of 5 stars The most detailed review
By Chris on May 20, 2020
Ok first off I'm an electrician
Let's start off by saying the build quality is nice it has a removabal slide that alowes you to use smaller wire gauges refer to micrometer measurements:) I used southwire 6/4 soow royal 65 foot this is not a waterproof plug "special steps needed"
Ok so install the wire to the terminals then put good silicone outdoor rated under the wire then take locking retainer and add silicone to it and tighten down "bottom and top need silicone" at "locker" then your on to the cover put a small bead around the whole lip and press the top and bottom together ok looks finish now nope you need to add silicone to the locker joint and to the wire output look at last picture .. you wander how it looks so good I'm a pro at enythang electrical included are all the tools you need need a pair of dikes, silicone and gun , or squeeze tube , Phillip's head number 2 I believe, and a silicone joint smoother that's how you can get amazing results ... ps I bought several other brands thay all got sent back this was the best design

5.0 out of 5 stars When connected to a running generator the end not plugged into the generator is hot
By Kimberly Lee on September 26, 2019
Needed these to set up a cord with 6 gauge wire to back feed my service panel with a generator that requires a 50 amp service🤗wired in a weather box to a double 50A barker and now all I’ll have to do will I loose power is to turn off the main power from coming into my outside service panel and flip on my 50 A beaker after plunging in both ends one to the generator and and one to outlet box which now is an inlet box🤗both ends are now hot and should not be removed without turning off the generator and the service panel beaker in that order🤗

5.0 out of 5 stars Nice size, nice handle on the back, and with only a dollar or two difference, a much better choice!!
By Ryan Jones on October 24, 2017
These are great connectors. Plenty of room in the hood and will easily take 4/4GA wire. Most 50A connectors won't do that and definitely the strain relief wouldn't work. But these, with the removable blades, easy access screws, and even a short guide on how to route the cables. Definitely nice, and the cost is only maybe a $1 or $2 more than the Leviton at Home Depot... I don't have any pictures of the inside (I was rushed to get it built), but I do have some of two of them connected, which, the way they are designed, makes it much easier to run one or two of these together since they don't double back on eachother. See picture to understand what I mean.
