- This toilet does NOT smell. I ended up deciding to see what it was like to use it for solid waste (see, that is what you really want to know about). I used it several times in that capacity and after several days I emptied the black water tank.
- When I emptied the black water tank I gagged multiple times from the smell (holy sh*t! - literally). Which is a true testament to how well this toilet works, and yes, I put in the chemicals.
- Septic friendly (single-ply) toilet paper seems to be the best option, so while it might not be luxurious, it will do better in the system.
- Due to the aforementioned gagging I *really* recommend not using this for solid waste unless your olfactory senses are severely compromised and you won't care (or you just like gagging... we all have our things).
- Should you need to use this for solid waste, consider emptying it at your earliest convenience.
Overall, I couldn't be happier with this purchase and I hope you will be too.
PS - every once in a while you see a review about this toilet that says that it leaks, or the seals aren't quite right. Be smart like I was and run water through the system and shake it around to make sure it's water tight. That way you can swap it unused if you get an imperfect one.
There was absolutely no odor at all!! I was very pleasantly surprised & pleased about this! Waste went cleanly down the opening & the 'flusher' rinsed everything all nice & clean.
Disassembled, I will say that 5 gallon bottom 'waste' container is very, very heavy (well for me anyway), so my son had to get it into the car so I could take to the dump station. Very easy to empty into the station disposal 'opening' (I VERY STRONGLY suggest having a pair of rubber gloves on hand lol). Not to be gross, but everything was 'dissolved' & there was not that horrendous odor you'd think there would be. Those waste tablets that come with the unit work very well. Take the hose available at the dump station, rinse the bottom part out & done.
I bought a small container of sanitizing hand wipes that I kept next to the unit so everyone could 'wash' their hands after use.
Going tent camping, pontoon boat for the day, etc. - this is the unit to have for convenient, sanitary, odorless 'personal' restroom convenience. Very, very highly recommend it. We will get a lot of use out of this.
Pictures are of the Queen's Throne positioned in my tent & the $1.99 wipes we used.
The water sprayer is somewhat weak (which is to be expected) so I kept extra gallons of water in the tent to rinse the bowl manually after each #2. I even kept a few Cleaning Wipes handy in the tent so it was easy to kept clean.
The only reason I gave this product a 4 star is that emptying the tank is awful. The waste canister really should come with some sort of hose so you can direct the waste into a dump site. I would highly suggest NOT disposing of this waste in a household toilet, since disposing of that much TP at once in a toilet would be VERY hard on the pipes and probably cause blockage. So we took the waste to a rest area waste site. And of course when we tried to dump it, there was a lot of splashing of gross waste on our feet. Some of the waste was stuck inside the tank, so I took it home to rinse it out. When I went to pour the remainder into our toilet (with only a tiny bit of tp) the gross water splashed EVERYWHERE in the bathroom and it smelled terrible. So this product is fantastic, except they really should sell it with a hose like RV's use so we could easily dump it. Heck, I would even pay extra to have a hose and save my shoes and bathroom from flying poop. It really is a mess and disgusting to clean.
We purchased the MIGVELA Pop-up Tent and they worked great together for a weekend.
Overall, this potty is made of great quality, so I think we will get many uses out of it. It was a huge success! I just need to buy some gloves and find a hose and it will be perfect.
The latches on the sides never stayed closed, so in effect the 2 pieces are never securely together
And the bottom tank builds up pressure over an hour or 2 and then explodes pee etc upwards when you try to flush it
Would have spent twice as much to get a good one, but went off the number of good stars on this model, big mistake
Think my others were cheaper models but much better than this one

Sturdy and easy to clean. The seal is really air-tight so it doesn't smell or spill. And the holding tank has a handle that makes it easy to carry and dispose of the waste in the toilet.
A tip to those planning to get this product. Instead of buying the deodorizing treatments recommended, you can use a tablespoon of Borax with the water you put in after cleaning.
Cons: very small toilet seat resulting in fluids escaping on my clothing lol...you know what i really want to say.
Also the mechanism to squeeze water into to toilet is very hard to operate. A child or a elderly person would have extreme difficulty with it. A hand pump would be better.
Leaks a little on the toilet seal.
