If you want to make sure you've got a cold drink ready at the end of your hike, this is your bottle. The vacuum-insulated steel Chute keeps things hot for up to 6 hours and cold for up to 24-even longer if you add ice. The bottle is designed for chugging, with a high-flow spout and a cap that fits neatly into the handle to stay out of your way when you're drinking. The double-walled design keeps condensation from collecting on the outside of the bottle, and the powder-coated paint job keeps things colorful while giving you a little extra grip.

Pro: I like the mouth piece, it is comfortable to drink out of.
Con: the mouth piece is difficult to lock out of the way and doesn't stay there well if you do succeed in getting it parked.
Undecided: so far I am unimpressed with the insulation properties; we have several other brands of water bottles and coffee mugs that are vacuum insulated, and so far I think this one seems to not perform as well as my bigger water bottle but it may be because of a smaller volume so it cannot hold much ice. All in all, it does the job.
I tested this bad boy out by first checking that the bottle and spout cap aren't annoying to function- they passed the test. Next I filled the bottle up and laid it on the counter and rolled it around a couple times and let it stay on it's side for a few minutes to test for leaking- it passed that test. And the biggest test for why I bought this bottle: How well insulated is it?
On the first day of using I did experience the ice melting faster than I'd expect and there was a bit of condensation building up by the spout. I will admit that I was so excited about it that I kept opening the bottle to check the progress so that's probably why these things were happening.
So on the second day I made sure not to fidget with the bottle as much and open the cap only when I needed to drink from it. So at 11am I added 4 ice cubes to my bottle then added cold water from my Brita Filter in the fridge. So I know the water is warmer than ice so the ice will melt a bit - that's science. I finished my water around 3pm and I didn't refill it..I shook my bottle to hear if there was ice in there at 4pm and YES there was still ice! I shook my bottle again 7pm and yes there was still ice! No water was in the bottle at 4pm and 7pm when I checked but the ice melted a little.... By around 9pm the ice melted completely.
After that I filled the bottle with cold water from the Brita and then I went out and left the bottle at home. After 3 hours when I came home and drank from the bottle again it was still cool. Went to bed and woke up 8 hours after that and yes of course by now it's room temperature.
This is a bottle worth the money. I almost bought my boyfriend one but he said not to worry he'll just use my Eddy bottle more since I have a new favourite bottle haha. I can't wait to try it out when the weather gets cooler and I started drinking hot tea again.
On the positive side, it easily fits in the cup holder in my Prius, so I would assume it would fit just about any cup holder. It does keep cold for quite a while, I've just been spoiled by my old Eddy. Finally, it's easy to clean and I haven't found anything growing in it.
I went with this one for several reasons. First of all, it's a brand I know and trust. I have the CamelBak backpacks and they are great quality. I have friends with similar water bottles to this that have lasted longer than the last several I've gone through!
I chose this because it didn't have a straw. I have thrown away countless straws because if you put anything other than water in them, they get mold and are impossible to clean. Disgusting! Not to mention the ones that break, come unattached and just don't do the job. I like that this had a spout so the straw was a non issue.
It's also got the insulation I like. I kid you not; I have left this in my car in 100 degree weather for several hours and come back to find it still cold with ice in it! It's the best insulated bottle I've ever had!
After trying it out for several weeks I'm getting one for each member of my family so we can stop dealing with the awful straws that require constant replacement.
When my ice melts, it comes through the spout so I wish there were a screen of some kind to prevent that from happening.
My other issue is that it doesn't seem to keep drinks as cold for as long as the Hydroflask did. But the spout cap is so much better than Hydroflask's, I'm okay with that. I don't really NEED it to keep ice from melting for 24 hours anyway. And it doesn't leak!
All in all, I'm very pleased. Seriously considering getting the larger one. Would like more sizes and more colors, though.
i was rockin' two ice cubes and kept the bottle in my hot car for a couple of hours. when i returned the liquid was still really cold.
i find that i drink more water now, too.
i previously had two of these and still thing they are great for outdoors, trips, etc : Rubbermaid 1W29 Shaker Bottle, 20 oz., Laguna Blue
but this stainless is great for anytime weight isn't a concern. i no longer have drips on my office desk from the condensation and the water is always refreshing.
