THE GOOD:
-Excellent quality
-Small size considering everything it can hold
-Holds 3L or (100oz) of water
-Mil-Spec bladder is short style so the pack is not uncomfortably long for shorter torsos
-Better quality mouth piece and valve lock than most civilian Camelbaks
-Comes with a mouth piece cover
-Drinking tube is longer than civilian Camlbaks
-Drinking tube is insulated
-2 small pockets, each big enough for all of your average pants pocket contents
-M.O.L.L.E. straps
-Velcro strip for displaying patches
-Comes with Velcro straps for securing the excess part of shoulder straps and keeps them from dangling freely
-Very large loop at the top to hang the pack with
-The bladder can be filled without being removed from the pack
-There is a zipper on the right hand side that lets you pull the bottom part of the bladder out of the pack to the attach/remove the drink tube from the bladder without having to remove the entire bladder from the pack
-The shoulder straps can be detached at their base and folded into a large pocket on the side of the pack that is normally in contact with your back. This allows the pack to be attached to the outside of a larger field pack using loops for d-rings on the sides of the pack

THE BAD:
-Yes, the shoulder straps lack padding (more on that below)
-You have to empty any heavy contents out of the lower pocket in order to fill the bladder all the way. The weight from that pocket pressing down on the bladder prevents it from fully filling.
-It doesn't come with a clip to keep the longer than average drinking tube from flopping all over the place(Life hack advice on that below)
-The mouth piece valve is not a right angle type.

Good so far. I tested this by adding magazine pouch as you can see - dual stack .40 Cal and single stack 1911 .45 Cal. mags. It also carries about 10 breakfast snacks in the hidden compartments. The police logo attaches via velcro
I've carried this wearing body armor and while on a hike with family.

The amount of water is sufficient to supply me while on the road. The mouth piece is also long enough to allow me to hydrate while on the road and while the bag is hanging above the passenger seat.

The cross chest harness seems to climb up to the neck area while wearing body armor. This happened while I was running 50 yards on training at the gun range.

I will update as I see issues. I hope this helps to cautious buyer like me.

Buyer be warned. This "Camelbak" does not have padded shoulder straps. They are just nylon straps that will offer no support or pain relief from lugging around 10 lbs of water. If you are looking for a comfortable long wear pack, you might want to look elsewhere. I immediately reached out to the seller when I opened my package to see if there was a mistake or if this is a knockoff product but I haven't heard back from them yet and that was two days ago. The weird part is that the seller offers a foliage green model that shows padded straps, and that's what I based my purchase on thinking that there wouldn't be a difference just because of a different color but I was wrong. Be sure to double check the zoom image to make sure what you are ordering is exactly what you want. Since the seller has yet to respond to me, I'm probably going to return this item and buy from another seller.

I have used this product on countless distance runs and four Spartan races (1 beast, 1 super, and 2 sprints). It helped tremendously because it had plenty of room.

I was glad it came in black, but one of the drawbacks was the warm liquid in the hose when the temperature is above 90°F. The hose insulator might have worked for ten minutes or so but not much longer. As long as you have ice in the reservoir the liquid in the hose isn't that big of a problem.

I had only one other issue. I had to add a baseball elastic belt to the bottom because it bounces around a lot without being tied down to you. I still would give this product a 9 out of 10 because it works great.

Awesome pack. Super compact. Don't worry about non padded straps. I hike 10+ miles in a day and haven't been rubbed raw at all. Just enough storage space for flashlight, emergency blankets, snacks, matches, small first aid kit, etc.... There is a sleeve between the pack and your back that is perfect for slipping a folded, full size rain jacket into. This pack is very durable. This pack has been perfect for for all my hikes in Palm springs, Mexico, Seattle, and Alaska. Because of the great quality I am also buying the HAWG. I have appreciated the streamlined ambush but a little more room will be nice, especially for winter gear. Antidote water bladder works great.

...Granted I inserted a kydex plate under the bladder to keep the curve of my back when the bladder was full, I highly recommend this procedure. When 3L is in the bladder, the back is almost flat and does not shorten the straps. Weighing with gear in around 3 lbs, adding 6.25 lbs for water, it's no light weight. I have read in other reviews there are no pads in the shoulder straps, I see no need even loaded up to 10 lbs for padding. the contour is excellent and the strap slack keepers are an awesome bonus.
